Norbes said nuborn is only good against punchline rappers and ineffective against non punchline rappers & always loses badly. Yall agree?
No,
because Born have improved alot since the last time we saw him on URL. Born is a completely different battler from when he battle Cal and Sco

If you disagree then list them. I'm interested to see what you'd consider a classic battle out of his catalog because I've seen pretty much every one of his battles and none of them have that "classic" feel where both rappers were on form and/or it's debatable. The only Roc battles I've ever gone back to watch multiple times after it initially came out was him vs Magic (I skip Roc's rounds) and him vs Ill Will (would have been a classic if Will never choked).

You're splitting hairs, IMO. It's not widely known that Vicodin can come in liquid form and most people's point of reference (especially in my age range) for Vicodin is watching House and it was only seen in pill form so that bars impact shouldn't be dampened. The 'Hollow be thy name' bar is grammatically incorrect and shouldn't be excused but if we use that same standard for everyone else in battle rap, a lot of rapper's best lines would be deemed as trash (a few of Roc's lines just came to mind :sas2:).

At the end of the day, Lux rapped better in this battle than he did against Calicoe and Hollow was able to do enough to negate that in the context of the battle. Who do I personally quote more outside of the battle? Lux, of course, but in the context of the battle, Hollow did more by touching on more subjects and that allowed him to win.

Nah I'm not even into breaking bars don't like that on some extra nerdy shyt so I feel you, but my point is if your plan of attack is to expose someone for not making sense, you better make sure everything you say in your rounds makes sense too or you're contradicting yourself and it defeats its purpose.

We sayin the Hollow Be Thy Name bar was wack now?

:childplease:
I get what he was trying to say, but the bar made no sense, and since half his entire plan of attack was saying how "Lux doesn't make sense" then the bar loses its steam. You can't be talking about someone makes no sense and then use bars that make no sense against them.

That be like Lux using gun bars in his battle against Calicoe then calling him a lost nikka

Lux said way more than the lean shyt. And half of the stuff Hollow said about Lux wasn't even accurate. Like the Vicodin bar. Vicodin comes in liquid form. He was really reaching trying to make it seem like Lux didn't make sense and in turn just exposed the fact that Hollow just doesn't know much about anything

"Hollow be thy name" "Thy" means your Hollow....
The issue isn't that Hollow doesn't/didn't know what he's talking about, the issue is neither did his supporters so you'll just get a :yeshrug: for bringing it up.

And I still cringe at "Shawn Kemp style!!!!!!!!"

Either way do you nikka classify Lux vs Hollow as a certified classic? And battle of 2014?
Did it live up to the hype?

I kinda disagree breh. Hollows angle was that Lux's bars were way too wordy and superfilous, and fans just cheer the shyt without even catching what dude says.

Hollow be thy name was a simple, hard hitting bar and super easy reference to catch. Yea it was slightly off grammatically but nothing close to lux doing verbal gymnastics

Definitely lived up to the hype at the time, only downfall is it's hard to get through Hollow's rounds now. They're not as good as they seemed at the time.

He also kept bringing up instances of Lux not making sense in his bars, even though the bars he quoted did make sense. I don't know bro, I just think Hollow's attack wasn't that potent when you review the game tapes. But that's just my personal opinion. When it's bars vs. personals, the personals have to stand the test of time or be truthful. I can't say Hollow's was, minus the selling CDs on the streets, which is what Lux really does. Nothing wrong with that, but it worked in the context of the battle and is funny lol

One of the greatest battles of all time imo. It lived up to the hype, and will still be debated 3-5 years from now. I'll also add that I don't believe doing it on the Smack platform would have enhanced the battle.
There are a couple of UW battles that would have been better on Smack, but not this one.
