Chilla is not where he is due to the PG's. His battle vs JC did a lot for him but him battling big names outside of URL did more for his status.
Magic definately.
Bigg K also got his name through battling big names on other leagues. URL literally did shyt for him.
T-top not a toptier (yet)
I dont fux with chess or dot so im biased when it comes to them.
Again im not knocking the PG's. I just think they couldve got more talent out of it if it was ran different. Preferably not by Norbes.

Neither B Magic or Chilla are top tiers. They are mid tier jobbers at best. Bigg K battled 3 top tiers last year (Concieted, Aye Verb, Arsonal), but they were all on off brand leagues, and the view counts for those battles are low.
You're bugging. The URL platform is what made these guys desirable to other leagues. Chilla, JC & Bigg K wouldn't be getting paid g's to battle other leagues to battle if they didn't already have a name from the PG's. None of these guys would be a big deal if they didn't get a PG. They would be toiling away on their local leagues, not getting paid, or getting paid less than 1000 to battle. Do you think Xcel would be getting paid to battle nationwide, if he never did the PG & UFF? Norbes heard about them, and decided that he needed to see if they had what it takes to make it on Smack URL. Why does everyone know who Prez Mafia is, but might not have seen a J Murda battle? Is it because Prez is better? No, it's because Prez came up through Smack. Ah Di Boom & Showoff are ARP's top gunners. They both had multiple battles on the Smack platform before they touched his stage.
Gjonaj stated that once leagues had HEARD that he had a good PG, he started getting calls from everyone, and his price went up at least 3x. You aren't seeing the big picture here.
Gjonaj has battled ONCE since his PG vs Nuborn, and his next battle will be Dizaster.
Quick, name the last 3 people that T-Top battled. On top of that, I'll give you the names of 3 people he had to turn battles down against, because of his URL contract. Math Hoffa, Dizaster, Arsonal. He's not "top-tier" yet? lol
Again the argument comes back to "I don't like Norbes".... y'all let the way that dude presents himself to the public cloud your judgement.
Also you should look at the list of guys who turned up their noses at the idea of doing a PG when the idea was introduced, and see how far they have furthered their battle career in comparison to say, John John. John John could have said, "I'm buzzing on Grind Time, my name is too big to do a PG", but he did it anyway.
T- Money Bagz, Brixx Belvy, Flamez (spanish guy who freestyle battled Iron Solomon) all either turned down or no showed for PGs. Have Brixx or Money Bagz become bigger names than they were in 2011/2012? Nope. Do you even remember who Flamez is?
You got me all wrong. Didnt say they didnt get their name off URL. I stated that they (chilla, bigg k) gained the status they have on their own by battling topnames and making a name for themselfs without URL. Smack even got Chilla back on main stage only after he been grinding for 2 years off URL.
Im talking about rappers jumping from pgs to toptier like magic and todd did. So now Xcel, gjonaj Prez etc in that same categorie breh?
And T-top not a toptier yet to me. Names he battles dont meant shyt if none of the battles were convincing let alone classic. In terms of popularity he's not up there yet either. Wavy had Shine and Todd. He a toptier too now?

B Magic is upper mid-tier. Chilla is middle tier.
I base top tier off "Can he headline a Smack event", B Magic could headline a smaller Smack card. One of them in between joints. Chilla couldn't headline any URL event.

Norbes is a questionable individual, but yes I'm a big fan of what he did with the whole "Proving Grounds" concept. You said you couldn't think of any battlers who are where they are because of the PGs.
The PGs raised the profile of everyone who ever had a battle on there that dropped at least three-fold, sometimes ten-fold.
How can you say they could've gotten more talent, when everybody who got hot after 2012 besides Daylyt and Rum Nitty has done a PG?

I think you still miss my issue. The "proving ground" is supposed to be a stepping stone to the URL main stage/event. As to my understanding its not to groom battlers so they can go chase money in others leagues. If we take ur mentioned timeframe 2012. Who did we get that went direclty from pg's to mainstage? Top, Brizz, dot, steams and chess? none of them convinced me yet. Thats why we still see the same names ( Cal, Roc, Clips, dna&shine) over and over again. Im just not as enthusiatic about the pgs or norbes as you are.
I really feel if B-Magic managed his career properly, he would could be one of those top tier on the lower scale.
Maybe a Tay Roc type of tier
URL has 300k subs. The whole industry watches that channel. One good battle on URL can change your life.
Shout out to the other leagues because they keep the brothers working, but its all about that URL platform. Shine and DNA were just on fukking BET dancing in front of Snoop. I don't think ARP has the ability to make that happen for you no matter how good your battle is.
OOOPS/Daylyt got a million views on Worldstar alone, and that battle was talked about crazy. OOOPS and Day aren't any better for it. Day is now begging for a battle with Lux/Soul Khan while battling any Basement Bob that calls him in the meantime. OOOPS is uumm... yeah.

Gotta agree there, hate url all you like but getting a name even on they pgs, we can see them being booked more on other leagues. Url has the only farm system where that is possible.
