low key that card you threw together would be the most excited I'd ever get for a card... I wouldn't expect it to do URL numbers or anything though. It's like how nikkas love underground hiphop and don't want it to change too much (but still complain about the skill gap).
Right, I'm sitting here like "Ummmm, that card would be fire though..." :jbhmm: Then again, I'm definitely more of a "bars over names" cat so the "big" cards with the "top tiers" that inevitably don't really live up to the hype but it's OK because it's more about the spectacle, performance, etc than you know, rapping, are barely a blip on my radar. Meanwhile I've watched SDH's Respect My Pen trailer bout 3 times, am fiending for their next round of bouts to drop, and one of my favorite battles this year is Ace Jab Bell vs G Lowe.

Throw Fliiko, Trez and CL with those names and now we're talking about a fire card. :ohlawd:

If Cortez is battling Chilla he better not try to "talk" to him.

I agree. He needs to give Chilla bars & aggression at least for the first two rounds. He sounds better rapping than Chilla, he's more comfortable in a street style setting than Chilla (so needs to press Chilla & bark on him a little), he also can get off more material in any given round than Chilla. He has to take advantage of all of this. Chilla can handle the slowed down, "I'mma address the crowd & talk to this rookie" Cortez with no problem. But he might a little flustered in front of the old Cortez.

Has any well known battle rapper gentrified their style more than Cortez? Sure Conceited got cornier and less aggressive over the years, but he was a novelty act from the jump.

of course you would hate it

for you to get behind a card it would have to have danny myers, jc, born,& big kannon, the whole sph roster with the event held in atl hosted by Miltown Bloe giving facial expressions that rival the expressions Beanie Sigel was giving Peedi Crack from back in the day. ARP would also have to be present
Fight back :dead:

Lux might as well take Verb, especially if it's a huge look like VH1.
There's really no one else. At some point, I felt like Lux had to consider Daylyt as a serious option. Kill me now....

Verb has been gunning for Lux for years, there's a story there, you can sell it. It will be at least as good as Lux/Clips, and that seemed to be a huge success.

Verb really has to show up between now and then though. Two great performances to close the year out, and everyone will be back on the Verb wave.

I thought it was fishy how he just pulled out of the Qleen battle at the last minute. He's been really quiet too, he never even bothered to address why he didn't show up. He's also stopped begging for Lux for a home game....

It was also confirmed on the radio by Danny Myers (I think) that someone big came into battle rap, and partnered up with "the right people" to put a huge event together. So the VH1 thing makes sense to me.
QP was a trap game. No way in hell Verb had a chance to win that. Especially with Qleen's one liners, on his home league.

Verb's preserving his stock. He's going to dust up Surf but it will be debatable due to Surf's fan base, but that will good enough to justify Lux.
