Luck didn't look good at all. I hate judging on a clip, but here's the image I had in my head. I thought either she was gonna have the Tori Doe swag thing going on or the Goodz swag presence. I didn't see none of that. I saw a woman who looked like she was reading off a piece of paper. She said on AFR the crowd was too busy looking at her titties. Her clothing wasn't even revealing. She didn't even look fly. Just an exaggeration to justify in her head why the crowd didn't fukk with some material she believed they should have fukked with. I thought she was gonna at least sound dope even if she was lil outdated. Her voice didn't even sound dope.
O'fficial was probably flustered, because the crowd was fukking with that shyt Luck was doing more than her material. She needs to study nyggas who give a great "I don't give a fukk look," because she makes it look like she's losing when she does that.
I wasn't feeling Daylyt at all, but that isn't anything new. His inability to tailor his material to a larger crowd is a huge weakness of his.
Right today, DNA would wash Charlie Clips. And for what it's worth, DNA had much better freestyles in their basement joke battle too.
I think it's fair to say DNA can freestyle better than Clips. He also carried Clips in a 2 on 2 a couple yrs back on DF. I always felt DNA's freestyles & cyphers is where he really showcases his talent. I loved his appearance with K-Shine on Sway. As a pure rapper he's dope, but it's like it just doesn't always translate to battle rap. It's starting to lately though.
Clips has the dope voice & presence, but he really needs to go back to the drawing board & evaluate his entire approach. He's become very stale.
Verb looked like the Verb where he does just enough & coasts to get a win. He's able to do that because he's a really good rapper. It backfired against Shine, but it's usually enough. He shows flashes of what he's capable of in spots which is why he isn't viewed like some of the vets who fell off hard. There's a reason people want to see him in with Lux despite taking a bad loss to K-Shine.
I'm also starting to suspect what Big Kannon does just does not hit against top tier guys. I still believe Big T could have coasted to a win if he wasn't choking throughout the entire battle. His lack of charisma was really magnified in that battle for me & I'm sure it was in the Clips battle which is why nyggas where giving that battle to Clips. However, you can argue Clips always wins in the building.
