Myers has always been corny, but has never received the level of disrespect he has been getting lately. If you haven't heard afr/twr recent podcast, then you wont really understand where I am coming from.

I've listened to parts of the last few AFR/TRW podcasts and I must have missed the parts where cats were goin in.

How is his age NOT relevant though? He's 35+ and you expect him to start changing shyt up NOW? The things you wanna teach him are things he should've learned before he hit puberty.

I hear ya, but that's a mentality that holds a lot of people back. There are still things that my mother could learn about life that would open her up to new things...

Off the top, we can all say Danny would be held in greater regard if he had a little more restraint/self control. He has a manager that he doesn't allow to manage his career. He would be better off if he had a real manager. If he was forced to run all of his battle rap related decisions by a trusted professional, he'd eliminate a lot of the bs he gets himself into.

The thing about Danny is that he coulda legit been a "respected top tier" if he managed his career right.

If he had an image consultant that portrayed him as a "with the shyt street nikka" from south central and he cut out all the corny antics and nerd/lame shyt, Danny would be up there with the "top tiers"


If he never did all the gatdamn corny dappin and huggin nikkaz in battles, paying for battles, gettin finessed by league owners and battling for free and the paying Rex 12k debacle really made Danny look like a lame

Danny lacks self awareness and he comes off as a naive child at times. shyt is sad

The thing about Danny is that he coulda legit been a "respected top tier" if he managed his career right.

That said, I think the simplest solution to marketing Danny Myers is simply reduce his exposure by a factor of 10.

Do interviews before and after specific battles, appear on the podcasts once every few months and focus the social media on bar breakdowns and calling nikkas out to battle.

There's nothing to be done about his nerdy/cornish tendencies, but it's amazing what reduced controlled exposure can do for even the top corn.

Hollow is obviously a nerd and totally different from the other URL stars, but he gets love everywhere he goes. danny is a nerd with a pen, a pad, and a gift, but he's like that kid in the neighborhood with all the consoles and games and uses those to make friends. just because he can bar someone up on any given day doesn't mean we wanna see him 24/7

The AFR episode with Qleen. I continued listening after Qleen got off & you had some callers (low level battle rappers I believe) just showing that nygga nothing but disrespect.

Everyone gets clowned, but with Danny is beyond that.

Like I said, even Jay Blac who tries to be political was comfortable blogging about not feeling him.

These nyggas are just too comfortable. That's what it comes down to.

Yup. Like I said, Danny has fans based off of what he does in battles. Not the persona that he has outside of the ring. They like that character he presents WHEN he's battling.

Look at Conceited. He had a draw based off of his personality in the battles themselves. So he was careful not to overexpose himself. By the time everybody unanimously decided that he's corny, he was already getting mainstream looks that other battle rappers weren't getting. So they had to still respect him on some level.

Hollow has a draw based off of what he does in battles. He comes off as an awkward dude. But limiting his exposure keeps his cool factor high. I remember him saying that battle rapping is so consuming, he can't have a girlfriend. That sounded weird as shyt to me....

Bigg K is another battler who would suffer if he put himself out there more. What he does during battles is really impressive. But he seems like a grouch & a whiner outside of that. Thankfully he doesn't stick his nose in everything moving, so we forget about his whining, we just think about his battles.

But like you said, he battles pretty infrequently. Sure it would be admirable if he battled as much as Danny Myers does. But he doesn't.

hollow comes off like the tortured comedian type. i wouldn't be surprised if he has books of bars that he'll never break out because he's overly critical
