It's not about going over heads, it's about getting the reference. The game is kind of old. Who knows how old "ooh ooh ohh" is, or if they even mess with "Trouble" like that in the UK.

It's harder having battle rap discussions nowadays, because there has become a pretty clear separation between the principles that hardcore fans want to uphold, and what actually keeps the culture going.

Rome & James Posey are both "what's keeping the culture going" guys, but the difference in the way they present their arguments is night and day. Rome is just insufferable at this point, but I guess his dry delivery, and lack of social etiquette make him stick out.

Facts. This whole argument between the older fans and newer fans has so many different dynamics to it.

The reality is, wins and loses don't matter and haven't once the cam vs. live era became a thing and battle rap became a revenue stream for people. Back in the day people lost live and that was it. There was no "let's watch this 10 times and break down each bar and see who won" element to battle rap. It was who left that block that very day with the consensus saying they won. I don't care what battle it is, unless it's a Rex/Charlie Clips situation or a JC/Time Bomb, you're gonna have enough people say the other guy won, and you'll never convince these battlers they lost now. Unless there's a judging system put in place that everyone can agree on, it's pointless really trying to argue wins and loses.

And even when we do that, that's still not gonna make people want to see you just because you win. If you're not actually entertaining, people aren't buying tickets to see you so leagues aren't gonna book you. Young Kannon can go on a 10-0 run, in all judged battles, Surf can go 0-8 and Surf is still gonna headline 10 or of 10 times over Young Kannon.

I always have to remember to listen to Daylyt interviews and fast forward past the garbage portion where he proclaims himself some type of forward thinking genius that is making moves outside the culture. The parts where he talks about battles & other battlers are always hilarious.

This is basically why people want to see the battle over again. Hollow stans can't accept that he could ever lose and since this was a non debatable loss for him they need to run it back so it'll be like the first one never existed.

SON!!! This is me when it comes to Daylyt. I skip all the "I got a deal with Nike" nonsense (The fact that Angryfan even entertains these conversations with Daylyt is mind boggling considering how often he lies) and go straight to him breaking down battles and things happening in battle rap. That nikka is hilarious when he gets to that.

Why are we still making excuses for Hollow's embarrassing loss to Arsonal in Fight Klub? It was a tournament, they knew they were going to battle each other at some point.
And it's not like Hollow didn't do what Hollow normally does, he got personal with Ars and everything. Arsonal was just better.
And even though Ars clearly won the first two rounds and might have edged the third, they still did an overtime and gave Hollow another shot. AND HE STILL LOST.

No one ever makes these excuses for Cortez losing to Rex in Total Slaughter.

Hollow doesn't even want a rematch anymore, so how is Arsonal ducking?
