If Day was content with the touring grind then sure, it could work. That audience would embrace him. But he's been doing all these gimmicks in hopes of stardom.

The gimmicks were for stardom within battle rap though. In battle rap, he really didn't get much attention back then.

Nah, we can't do that. Let's not forget Daylyt was on Vlad talking about doing things with Diddy. He also made that fake collabo with Drake. He was trying to go viral and become a household name. He doesn't want to have to do shows every other night, he wants to get paid just for being Datlyt.
Day has to be wild jealous of Queenzflip right now.

I disagree. There is a clear difference between seeking attention, and taking the steps to become some sort of household name.

Telling people you want to sukk Diddy and a fake collabo does not create an actual fanbase, which is required if you want to be a star/household name.

These things were done for attention. People click on it, listen, laugh, and move on.

Daylyt doesn't really do gimmicks like that any more, because his endgame was to become a top tier battle rapper. Once you are a top tier battle rapper, different opportunities come up and it's up to the battler to take advantage.

If Daylyt really wanted to become this sort of household name, when he finally created a serious project, wouldn't he create music that gives him the best chance at commercial success? "Let There B Lyt" is so far removed from mainstream, that it wouldn't make sense to create if it were solely about being a household name.

I'm just not sure how you came up with the assumption that Daylyt wouldn't want to do shows every other night, or anything regarding a music career.

With the type of project he just made, he would be better off on a independent machine like a Strange Music.

I don't even comprehend how you connect him trying to go viral to "battle rap fame", and not simply just "fame".
He's made joke gimmick songs for years. He finally put out a project where he is rapping like he normally raps. Doesn't mean he's abandoned the gimmicks. I don't think he even has the patience to do any one thing for too long.
