Tink Da Demon really needs to work on his craft. I think it's sad to see him go out like this.

I appreciate his authentic style,
but he doesn't understand how to use it effectively on a consistent basis yet.
His graphic writing is like Scarface and Biggie
There's no one in battlerap that has that.
He just doesn't understand he needs to pick up his pacing and deliver his bars in a more traditional way too make it work.
He could be one of them cold imagery based punchers.
Like when Verb said "His soul flyin I'm STILL firing, even his Guardian Angels duck"
That was imagery that hit.
If you study Tink's writing he could easily come up with some shyt like that.

Like if you take his opening vs Saga when he said

When I got the call for Saga, initially I wanted to wild out
I reached in my pocket, pulled some loud out
Sparked it, blew a cloud out
I even took a walk in my head to pick a style out
Then I got a call from the Devil on that phone that don't dial out
He speaks in a Sumarian language and let a howl out

That right there had me on my feet waiting to see where he would take it to punch but he blew it.
That was like jumping in a scene just waiting to get overwhelmed.
The crowd was into it but he lost them cause he didn't punch fast enough after that.
He had another shot when he said.

All y'all scared of the truth, but I embraced it
If Heaven was the 3rd floor, I'd be chillin in the Basement
Any and everything in between is just the Matryx

He coulda punched right there and it woulda been fire but he just waited too long to punch.
Think just rhymes to slow for it to work with him as of right now

Only nikkas in battlerap that don't follow the traditional 4bar format
and excel at it are Big T, Yung Ill, Verb and O Red. (Meaning the ones that take longer than 4bars)
And you can see that in this era Verb is struggling too because this is the punchline era.
I had a conversation w/ Mickey Factz about this being one of the main reasons why Verb is struggling in this era (combined with the stumbling etc ofcourse)

His battle w/ Mike P was dope, he needs to build on that

He didn't say JC needs to stop running lines back lol, he was speaking in general about battle rappers that run it back 17 times every other bar when the line/lines wasn't that crazy to begin with lol.

This style causes a lot of stumbling too, like again when Tink put on the mask I was waiting to hear what the punch would be and he stumbled before he could deliver it. He is lyrically dope but with these big crowds the intricate style isn't viable anymore.

His battle vs Mike P showed me it could definitely work.
He had Mike P under PRESSURE in the 1st :merchant::picard:
But he lost his voice and doesn't know where to breath yet in a battleformat
He still got toptiers saluting him for his originality and interested in battling him off potential.
All off that battle with Mike P

He makes rookie mistakes a lotta nikkas post-SMACKDVD era make
  • Tink breathes too heavy, and sometimes in the wrong places for a battleformat. Brizz used to make that same mistake. if you watch his earlier URL battles you'll clearly see the difference between then and now
  • He raps too loud that causes him to lose his voice. It's because he still thinks he's on inferior leagues where he needs to do that while he's in a bigger venue. If you watch Tink vs Mike P you'll hear Brizz tell him "they can hear you bro, save you voice"
  • His pacing is too slow, so he should speed it up and rap in a rhythm
  • He needs to punch faster and use imagery to hit
  • He needs to tone down a bit of the complexity
Very easy things to adjust if you ask me, if he does that it'll be way easier for him not to stumble

His Graphic writing is a very powerful skill that stands out to me.

A lotta quotables we love are imagery based.

He should figure it out in small rooms like Born Legacy

Tink needs to go on the battle rap diet. It's the answer to all his problems.

He don't look healthy up there.

I hate to say it, but I think Mike P is going to clearly beat big t.

It's sad, because I think Big T has a higher ceiling and much more to offer than a Mike P, but Mike P has a certain level of consistency and you have to work for it to beat him.

I just assume Big T is going to choke a couple of times in this battle.
