Preciate the translation because I aint get none of that shyt. I tried to watch an episode of DBZ so that I could catch the references thrown around battle rap, but I couldn't get into that shyt at all.

Red probably holds that crown. It should also be noted I have a VERY difficult time deciphering which battles happened in 2016 vs. 2017 due to when the battles were released vs. when they actually occurred. I feel like the argument is between Red and Roc; Cortez was up there but he lost that KOTD title match (fairly or not).

Alot of people have him losing to charron.
Charron is corny and overrated. I'm really tired of white battle rappers getting extra credit for simply being white in a black league. But the concensus was that roc lost to charron and I got hollow beating him. Although it was great enough where I won't hold that L against him, one of those the fans won situation.
He did beat ars, chess and diz tho.

I edge Roc over Red simply because Red's toughest opponent was Bigg K, who is elite, but Roc arguably beat two of the GOATs like 2 months apart. That's insane.
Even if you give Charron the win (I don't), the Hollow battle like you said is highly debatable. So still, he's probably battler of the year. O Red probably the only battler with more than 3 battles this year that went undefeated. But like I said above, his level of comp was on a lower tier than Roc's. JC too, he had a great year, but consensus is he got 3-0'd twice. You can't be battler of the year just off GP. Cortez has a good argument but he had a couple of weak performances and he just lost his title match (Even though I feel like he should've won clearly, it wasn't like he was that crazy in the battle either, just much better than Head Ice).
I'm watching Ruin Your Day (I have a Patreon account, it's not on Youtube) with Tay Roc and Hollow watching their battle (With Brizz), it's really dope. Hollow said the third he had for Tay Roc was originally for Mook.

I think Roc is battler of the year and I have him losing to Chess, which I admit not at all the consensus, but either way classic battle, and then i had Hollow beating him but also classic. he beat Ars, Diz, though a shytty battle, charron, i dont really care, shytty battle. on first watch i edged charron but obviously not the best roc, never watched it again. not gonna hold it too much against him. I care more about the quality of battle, like its cool he won vs diz but i give him more points for to me a loss vs hollow. also just facing hollow, diz and ars same year, i guess the ars might be debatable but i had roc clear, clear beat diz, debatable with hollow, i think also he faced the best chess ever other than his 3rd round stumbling.
