I think so. I know that these guys don't have it together overall in life, but they see additional revenue being generated by the PPVs and probably don't feel as though their being fairly compensated. Aren't battles paid for in advance? Is there even any additional paper work if your battle appears on a PPV? Or can the league just do whatever they want with the footage, live or otherwise?

Nobody is stopping these cats from negotiating.

Battle rappers need real lawyers and managers. No one should talk to or see a league owner OR MEDIA about a battle until all the legal i's are dotted and t's are crossed.

i mean financially he could be makin enough bread off regular gigs so he just does this for fun....in theory

But the amount of time it takes to do all of this stuff and have other camera ops there you cant find anyone willing to do all of that for free.

Time wise that nikka either isnt working too heavy on regular shows/movies or he's somehow functioning on 2 hours of sleep max

Not an argument but just offering another perspective.
Now, it can only work if they get the right person who can help them organize it all. Someone who can play it well behind the scenes. They might be on strike from SMACK URL but best believe...smaller leagues that want to pay them will hit them up. And they MAY take some of those battles while they are boycotting SMACK URL; might be contradictive but lets not act like nikkas won't chase money while this is going on.

With unions and etc., I mean yeah, you need someone who shows strength as a leader. But you need people who can legally and financially make things happen. Hitman, if he is smart enough and thinks it through, could see if there is someone who could help them out.

This is not really an argument, or a subject I really care to go back and forth on.

Yeah we've seen this movie a million times already. Every couple of years, battlers complain about how URL do business only to come back with their tails in between their legs after they realize they are not gonna get paid anywhere else. This so called "strike" wont last long at all

He didnt get paid at KOTD probably just expensed etc and/or a cut of the ppv. Not sure about URL

This is nothing new.

These guys need to re-evaluate how they negotiate in this PPV era instead of just accepting deposits and complaining after the fact.
