Maybe its semantics that were all arguing. elite, god tier, goat, legend, etc I dont have verb or really anybody anymore as the single goat. but like lets say in actual hip hop. theres mad people that imo are on that level, like theres at least 20 prob more that have a claim, im not gonna lets say take whoever i personally have as number 20 and be like, nah that person aint no goat cause imo theyre not close to number one. theyve done enough even at 20 to be in the convo and i can see why some people could have them as the top spot. thats all im saying with verb, hes in the convo. I only used the word elite anyway which is way more inclusive than a word like goat. though i did say he was a contender for mt rusmore but key word is contender

Real talk. And the whole “Verb ain’t start getting respect till he battled Mook & Lux” argument that I’ve seen other battlers and battle rap fans use is very disingenuous. What they need to be looking at is why Verb was the only one in a position to get both Mook & Lux in a year’s time frame. The fact that he’s the only guy whose battled EVERYBODY whose anybody in battle rap and is still relevant after all this time. People try to knock him for the Ls he’s taken but it’s like Roberto Duran’s boxing record who’ll fight anyone vs a fighter who picks and chooses and fights once every 2 years. Durán has nearly 20 losses but also over 100 wins because he doesn’t duck any smoke. Same principle with Verb. Whether you like him or not, the credentials are there. (Longevity, classic moments, big battles, etc).
