What Charlie Clips is able to do is absolutely amazing for a guy people consider "super top tier."

Clips has probably taken far more battles than anyone and has beaten more top tiers than anyone:
Verb, Rex, Surf, Daylyt, Tay Roc, Con, Ill, Hitman, etc.
How are you gonna compare him to Lux, Mook, and Hollow who rarely battle. If you take one or two battles in a year and look bad then it's easy for people to dismiss you because you're already inactive. If Clips had a bad day he's on another card the next month to redeem himself.
Every vet (minus ROC) has taken money from a league and given poor performances.

How many of them are battling as often as Clips? If Clips takes 10 battles and shows up for 6 but they take 4 and show up for 2 why not target them as well? Clips was the MVP of 2014 and is currently top dog but he still has his poor performances mentioned.
Why not say that about Verb? Before RvV someone said if "the Young Miles Verb shows up" or if he's on his A game. There's always nostalgia for him and his 2014 was awful. He did nothing on Total Slaughter. 3-0'ed by Ilmac, choked vs Caustic, unimpressive vs Goodz and Todd, battled Boom, etc. And why is he not calling out top tier URL guys like Roc or Surf
? He seems to be content battling mid tiers and cacs. KG called him out for KOTD and he chooses Shotty, Caustic, and Illmac. Meanwhile other URL guys want Rum, Chilla, or a street mc.
