I dont even know what Caustic said i was just saying didnt Bigg K say something to that effect in one of his battles & I agree that its not the same thing but he shouldve known Caustic was gonna go there..at the least he shouldve told him what was off limits before the battle

He was just referencing an experience they bonded over. There was nothing remotely disrespectful about the name drop the line was something like "right around the time I lost (name) and you lost (name)" and then he went right on with his round. There was no diss and from jump he was saying "listen to what I'm saying." I get why K reacted how he did, because Caustic is KNOWN for third round disrespect but he took the high road with a friend and they just had a misunderstanding. He cleared it up further in an interview after and apologized for using the name as soon as the battle finished. What was great about it was that Caustic came with a heart felt, real talk verse and Bigg K followed it with an entire round about how Caustic can't claim to be a thug when he owns a cat that runs his life...it definitely fixed the vibe some.

Coma vs Frak - Haven't watched yet
Reverse vs Only - Haven't watched yet but I've heard it was really good

Madflex vs Lu Cipher - Lu was consistent and solid. Madflex won off performance, bar for bar they were close but Madflex had jokes mixed in that actually hit. Both cats have potential if they keep grinding and growing.

Thesaurus vs Fresco - Low key a really good battle. Thesaurus has been crazy consistent this year and stuck to that with a strong performance. Fresco went HAM though, best performance of his career and arguably performance of the night. This battle is worth watching, I'll definitely play it back a couple of times because there was some of the best writing of the entire night in it.

Bigg K vs Caustic - Preference battle. Both cats came HEAVY in the first, both fell off in the second and the third was weird. K overreacted and Caustic didn't respond too well, but I give Caustic the handicap on that round. It was a really entertaining battle though. Edge goes to whoever you'd like, I'm thinking more cats will give it to K because he did what he does but I thought he was kinda over acting on the defensive (punting bad bars every three seconds) and then he lost his head in the third (more understandable given Caustic's usual behavior). Honestly, neither made a great case to get a title shot next.

DBD vs DNA - Dan probably had the best writing of his career and kicked the playfulness mostly the curb for actual disrespect in his personals. DNA was his usual self with some nice moments and some trash. Dan 2-1 or 3-0 with a clear win regardless. He sorta retired after the battle which is kind of unfortunate because I'd be interested to see him take this style into the ring for more battles. This was surprisingly good.

Day vs QP - Day went light, brought a corny gimmick to use as a crutch and then cut off every round while QP was cooking. QP's past two battles that I've seen have both been nice reminders about how crazy his pen is (Bulletz and this one). It's a body imo (and I'm a Day fan) even with the rounds cut short on him.

Pass vs Ars - Ars was better than he's been recently, still not at his best though. Pass meanwhile really outrapped Ars but included enough wordplay and punches to make the first round debatable and clearly take the second. His third was a real talk round, but it was one of the best executed in a long time. He hit Ars hard with an angle that I think was long overdue with the avenue Ars has chosen the past few years (mr. disrespect instead of focusing on bars). 2-1 or 3-0 for Pass with the standout round of the night.

Diz vs Gjonaj - No...you cannot simply outwrite a top tier opponent and win...especially if you come with your lightest pen game since you blew up. Diz switched from roasting sessions to legitimate bars and showed how performance combined with crowd control can make a well written round forgettable. Gjonaj's choke put it in the bag and Diz pretty much toyed with him. It was a flashback to rookies vs vets really. Gjonaj's worst performance vs a vintage Diz performance that stacks up with a lot of his better ones. 3-0 body of the night imo.

Overall - most of the battles were fairly competitive, a lot of great performances and I copped it for the early bird price so I'm happy with the investment for sure. I gotta go back and peep the first two battles but every battle I watched was worth watching at least once and I'll probably replay a lot of them especially Thesaurus v Fresco, Pass v Ars and portions of DBD, QP and Diz's performances. One of the better events of the year imo. Don't sleep on Fresco or Pass, plus give DBD a look just because it's a pretty nice shift from what you'd probably expect from him.

I did a full rewatch of Gjonaj/Diz. Gjonaj third was decent but I see what ya'll saying.. It just didn't matter. Diz was the better version of Diz.. even his impression/jokes had legit bars. Based on his other rounds, I'm not so sure this dude had a chance point blank.
Yooooooo Diz really killed this kid :dead: this is the best Diz I've seen in a long time. He even had bars :francis: where does gjonaj go from here

Battles the dudes who KOTD keeps around.. The Nittys, Myers, Rones and whatever else. Wouldn't mind seeing him against like, Prep (if anyone can find him) or Saga in a room somewhere. Gjonaj is probably going to relegated to barfests for his battling career. Not a performer and apparently grating to half the fans.

I'm so impressed with Organik and the way he conducts himself. This is one of multiple times he's squashed an ugly situation before it happened

Dude is grade A professional
Never seems to hesitate to put himself directly in the middle of situations with bigger, seemingly rougher dudes to diffuse it. Organik might be bout that.

Gave it to Caustic 2-1, maybe a 3-0 edge. K had almost no bars tailored for Caustic the whole battle. If you take out the nose jokes those bars could have went to anyone.

Fake a scrap then deliver a whole third round about a cat? Nah, you can't get the win.

Look at you, emotional.

Almost get stomped out, then deliver the rest of the round choking back tears with a frog in your throat. To top it off, apologize promptly afterwards?
Both guys were emotional, but which type of emotion do YOU relate to more lol

Ehhhh. Bigg K overreacted to Caustic dropping dude's name. Big time. Caustic apologized and kept it rap which he sorta had to because Kenneth was accusing him of something he didn't intend

I know what you're saying, Caustic certainly won't earn any stripes from this battle. But Bigg K shouldn't either. K was out of line. And I'm not sure he woulda stood up to say Ill Will, Calicoe or Shotgun Suge like that if they were spitting the same bar Caustic did. Lemme leave it at that

Caustic dropped dude's name to up the tension level... then it backfired on him. He didn't think K would check him like that. But if he didn't expect that type of response, he clearly isn't aware of his public perception, and that's unfortunate.
Why do people always say "but but, he wouldn't have done it to so & so". He clearly said to Caustic "You ain't built like that" and that's exactly what he showed. Only corny dudes like Caustic & Arsonal (I like Ars but his shtick is corny) even do that type of thing consistently anyway.
It's not like K had a bunch of people with him... he wasn't going to continue the battle if his dead friend was disrespected.
