You two say it and everyone else dapped you two for it. There are some people who I've talked to who had Clips winning both of those by edging it. That's the dope shyt about this; these battles are not judged and fans can see it how they want to. With that said, Hollow did win, in my opinion. The Lux battle gets me as far as the win because of the weird shyt going on near both of their third rounds. As interesting and entertaining as it was (Diz mentioned this too), that back and forth plus Lux's sis jumping in the middle and asking for Beaseley took away from the battle to me. Just overall, I think the fact he didn't beat some of the best nikkas in the game shouldn't exclude from being in anyone's top. I'm the same way with Hitman and he's got way more losses. You have to count notable battles and rememberable moments from these guys, too. And if they didn't beat fan favorites, that doesn't count them out. nikkas take L's everyday, b. Hell, you have Hall Of Famers in all sports that lost some big games in the past. Just sayin......
Its a clear L but Clips had some shyt in there vs. Lux. Primarily when he put the Kufi on he started cookin.

There is no shame in not beating Lux and Hollow. The way Clips approached those battles is shameful tho. Clips took TODD more serious then he did Lux.

I don't know how people still get excited for clips or believe in him.Personally if clips never battled again I'd be fine with that.

Clips had 2 of the top 3 battlers ever and bullshyted both of them. If you don't go all out for hollow or loaded lux then you won't for anybody. Its hard to respect or give props to a guy who puts more time into manipulating the fans into riding for him in battles he clearly lost than he does writing rounds that would have probably won him the battle. He's been living off of being a cool guy for pretty long time and is low-key just as bad as aye verb right now but since he's not obnoxious like verb people aren't calling it out.

He had more to gain by winning vs Lux/Hollow :francis:

Clips is lazy and a sandbagger that knows his fans would never let him "lose" against those two but if he got smoked by TODD, they wouldn't even be able to spin it.

I don't rate Clips at all but as I've met more battle rap fans, I've just accepted that he's got the most loyal (delusional?) fans around.

Like, we're arguing whether he's higher in status than Hitman Holla when Holla has at least 10 classic moments by himself and Clips only really been hot for the last 18 months. You can't win :yeshrug:

You guys are all deep into battle rap

Charlie is a great starter kit for new fans. Clear voice, basic bars, not concept-heavy

He does the fundamentals well (except prepare :martin:) he just doesn't go beyond them much

I was watching his Hollow battle with my wife and she didn't even realize he was freestyling. She didn't like that round as much but it wasn't some mortal sin to her like it would be to us

As the cultcha continues to gain fans, he's gonna keep his base but also attract the new fans who have less perspective

Diz was wilding in the first. "nikka" :deadmanny:

You can tell he been waiting a decade to give Iron those bars.
The first part of his third was good but he kept going and did some whack shyt at the end.
Solomon was solid the whole battle. Pretty dope battle.

Cortez put on too, had the second best battle of the night.

I've never seen a shotti P battle before, but that dude surprised me at BO6. Not that Skelly is any good, but that was the body of the night. He had dude salty as hell and the whole crowd turned on Skelly who was pretty much the home town battler.

That's partially what I was getting at. I guess thats what you can call Clips's "cheat code" for beating alot of people. But what he does works. And the reason why I argue about it is because not alot of battle rappers can do or willing to do what Clips does.
Pretty sure damn near over half of them are scared as fukk to even try to freestyle. LOL.
He clearly lost to Hollow, Charron, Illmaculate, and I give him a debatable against Lux and Serious Jones (don't agree with me, I'm fine with that). BUT he beat the top gunner Tay (twice), Conceited, Surf (who got so much pub), John John Da Don, Hitman Holla, Aye Verb, Oshea, Quill, Tony D, T-Top, Shotgun Suge, Daylyt, Arsonal, and some others I forgot to mention.
I understand what you guys are saying though. When it mattered for him to win, he didn't try as hard in the big battles like Lux and Hollow. But battles that weren't as big, he went all out in them.
