I never cared enough about Lux new style to research his influences. Inform me.

Also, I either have that va kill tape (dark cloud?) Or heard the c section bar on a molemen compilation joint. Ipeeped the Myers bar vs xcel, but wasn't sure if bitten or just a concept more than one writer could come with

In terms of style and moreso concept. Both of these dudes are students of Bro Polight. Lux is also a good friend of a cat by the name of Black Dot who is like this oldhead that use to rap. There's is youtube video where Black Dot ask Lux his influences to which Lux said "brothers within the conscious community. But also Polight ..........Remember The line from the Murda Mook Battle where he made mention of Lux being down with Polight (Lux is more indirectly, B DOT is like an actual member , check DOT IG and you'll see him chopping it up with Polight in the Studio. There also a video of Dot in the studio with King Los, Polight and this other cat by the name of Minister Enqi (this is around the time King Los drop the "Pound Cake Freestyle" he (DOT) already said the Myers battle was going to be his last battle and he was going to focus on spreading consciousness within his music. Given that they are both students of Polight (both give each other praise within interviews btw) . Also heard allegedly that Lux was promoting Polight books in NYC, you think they not going to be reading and picking up on little tidbits of info and intertwine that in they rhymes. If you peep some of Polight's video he has that same sorta delivery when he going in on a topic

Yep Darkest Cloud, Vakill actually spoke on that on his FB . To find it the actual thread go to FB and type "Donald Vakill Mason + Myers". 'Kill said something like it'll probably go overlook cause he is an underground artist and most are unfamiliar with his work, but he better not make it a habit. I believe Myers did it again in a battle dont know which battle. But he made a comment status that said "Okay you biting, Danny that's 2 times in a row" dont know if he deleted it or not (cause he went in on Kanye about a week or so ago and then delete some of his comments). or what battle he could have been referring to but this was AFTER the XCEL battle.

Personally I prefer all his rounds to DNA's

But I'll give surf the 1 and 2 official

Standards have changed since 2010.

What DNA was doing back then is dated and corny sounding now. On the flip Surf's 1st & 2nd hold up really well. People had a hard time following what Surf was doing at the time, now our minds are all programmed to follow that style of battle rapping.
If we were to judge it today in 2016, then yeah I might edge the first Surf, and give Surf the 2nd clearly. But when the battle happened? The consensus was that DNA clearly won that 1st. People forget how crazy that whole "Get him the fukk outta here" closer was back then.

Did Surf fart at 2:37 of the first vid? I never understood what happened there.

:salute: for the information.

This section is split on B-Dot, I'd say 70/30 in favor of him being a flat out biter. I'm part of the 30 mostly, in that while Dot has very similar flow and mannerisms to Lux, there are distinct differences in the rhyme structure, bars, AND content. Lux uses a lot of words and subtle references, but it's almost 100% embedded into a complete breakdown of the dude in front of him. I find it hard to follow Lux 50% of the time. I have to rewatch quite a few times to get it all, and I'm not a low-level rap fan. B-Dot is a little less obscure, but doesn't completely dissect his opponent in the same way. He does it well, but it's a little simpler and lands on the first watch. His conscious rap pieces are digestible and sometimes stand alone or get used for setups.

Overall, I think B-Dot is dope, but he's in a realm where you just can't sound like another dude and have ti go over. Doesn't matter to the majority of fans if the two dudes went to the same speech classes taught by the same dude with the same cadence -- the dude who is already established will appear to be the originator.
