Did Danny get robbed against Swave?
This guy Danny, I don't think his current format works in a battle with seasoned judges. He had too much filler that could have been said against anyone. Why would you do that in a judged battle? It reminds me of old DNA, yelling all this bs to get up to a haymaker. If the haymaker is good enough, most of the crowd will forget how you filled in the space leading up to it. But if you're doing a judged battle, how do you expect the judges to conveniently ignore half of your material?
Everything Swave said was going directly at Danny. Swave choked in the first, so that's an auto loss. But overall Swave's round hit harder. Danny had a few dope haymakers in the 1st, and a few stinkers. It was an easy round to beat, but Swave messed up and had to bring the round back.
Danny's 2nd was a standard Danny Myers round. If you're a big fan of his, then I guess you'll rock with it. But I didn't find it to be impressive or memorable. Danny hit Swave with a few old jokes. What are they, like two years apart in age? Weird imo. I like Swave's 2nd better, but not so much that he won that round clearly. Why? Because Swave didn't deliver his 2nd well enough to CLEARLY take that round. There are moments in Swave's 2nd where he sounded so disgusted it took away from his delivery. And his "lima bean" remix didn't hit. I felt like Swave was going to take the 2nd clearly up until that point (the lima bean remix), but the round became debatable again.
Danny fans can argue, "Danny had more bars in the 2nd", even though I think it's a flawed argument when you are using bars you could say to anyone in a judged battle. So that's when it becomes a preference argument. Some people will have Danny winning 1 & 2, but I think the 2nd is hard to call.
For the sake of objectivity, here's one clever bar from each of their second rounds. If y'all are judging a battle, which bar will you remember more? Say each of these in your head, using that battle rappers standard voice & delivery.
Danny saying -
I'll beat this nygga face with the mac handle, I keep something in a Bourbon for nyggas that want to jack Daniels
OR
Swave saying-
Face sliced, play connect the dot with your freckles so when you heal, the scar gon have you looking like Daylyt
There's a difference there, whichever you prefer is personal taste.
I liked most of Danny's 3rd, because he was talking about Swave. But then Swave took off. You see what Swave does, and you just know Danny CAN'T do that. Swave's round might not be legendary, but it's a clear 10-8 round. Swave is up there shaking like he might bite a piece outta this nygga.
Ultimately they both clearly won one round a piece. Danny won the 1st off of Swave's choke, while Swave's 3rd was the best round of the battle. Winning the 3rd convincingly is more important than winning the 1st, so if I'm a judge I might not want to waste my time busting my brain over picking a winner in the 2nd.
