dont know if anyone posted this yet cuz i forgot to

Mickey Factz and Chilla are apart of some invite only guild about linguistics along with Lupe and a few others

he recent wrote an article about the art of the double/triple entendre and a formula of how it's done

@RAW_SPK you prolly already internalized this stuff but it's always dope to see it in written form :myman:

The Double Entendre. Triangulated.

THE DOUBLE ENTENDRE. TRIANGULATED.
April 27, 2017

When one considers the term: ‘Double Entendre’, many different realizations may occur in your mind. Double meaning, ambiguity and innuendo, are some of the synonyms directly linked to the French expression. The origin of these two intertwined words go far back. The usage was primarily used for socially awkward conversations and even sexually induced puns. Basically ways to cover up solicit language in public, while simultaneously telling a crass joke that intelligent people could decipher rather quickly.

Fast Forwarding to Hip Hop, some lyricists use the technique to create metaphors, similes and other english language within bar structure of rhymes. While studying with my fellow brother Chilla Jones IT, I’ve found a distinct way to easily and cleverly craft Entendre’s effortlessly. The technique is called “The Entendre Triangle”.

unnamed-300x234.jpg

Consider a Triangle. With no point of stoppage or exit. Its just a streamlining movement of design. Free flowing. This is the foundation of the Entendre. We will separate the 3 settings into quick format. The bottom of the Triangle can be classified as “Subject”. The beginning of the Entendre starts with the subject matter. It leads off the Entendre with a start point of interest. The left side of the triangle can be classified as “Intrigue”. The middle of the Entendre becomes the focal point and spring board for the closing word and or phrase. This part is essential in bridging the gap between references. The final side of the triangle can be classified as “Summation.” The culmination of the Entendre brings forth a satisfying completed punchline or metaphor. Utilizing the summation properly will ensure a perfected Double Entendre.

For example, take the lyric:

“Rappers wanna be super? Man, they’re in the lowest lane, looking for the booth”.

Subject = Superman
Intrigue = Lois Lane
Summation = Booth

Ironically enough, aside from the obvious pop culture references to Superman’s distinct image, it also doubles as a way to describe emcee’s attempt to be popular, while being eschewed in the underground sects of their career, looking to record.

This format is one of many ways to create a Double Entendre. There is no absolute set format to crafting one. My advice when it comes to writing an Entendre: Tri it.

Mickey Factz is cool as fukk to talk to on some battlerap shyt.

Me and him go back n forth about rap all the time.
The nikka really loves rap and appreciates it if you know ya shyt like he does.

I definitely recommend reaching out to son.

Never forget he's an intelligent brother who is connected in the game

Like @T-K-G said him, Lu, Chilla and em are down with the technical aspect of rhymin which would benefit you since you're a pen nikka

I know Mickey watched it cuz Xcel tagged him in a post about the battle on FB. AngryFan posted it, its on rapgrid...everyone sayin this the battle as a reference for xcel to get back on url. I sent it to HEAD ICE and he hit me back thoroughly impressed (we spoke before on one of my older battles but that was like my 1st couple ones)

Lupe is one of, if not my favorite rapper not named Jay-Z or Biggie so ima shoot it out in the dark and send it to him by way of bishopg (the nikka randomly follows me on twitter lol). I havent reached out to chilla but thats a good idea

Na there were no dope performances on double impact except for guntitiles and marv/quest. Having one hot round does not equal a dope performance.
Agree to disagree, breh. I though Math and Cortez were good. Also hoping having a thorough, consistent partner will inspire Math (and Clips) to come correct. The battles are happening, might as well give them a chance to be good...

C'mon man. Its not like they didn't take battles like this before. Ooops, let me say that right. Its not like they haven't battled white people before. Lol.

My point is, if their last two on two look was on Double Impact (650k plus views), why take the KOTD battle a month before Double Impact? It lowers your demand, your negotiating power, etc.
It's not like they had been doing two on two's all year, they took a break and came back for Chedda Cheese.

Anyway, Beasley was on AFR yesterday (the Calicoe show) saying that Marv & Quest didn't like their opponents and turned it down. But he also said they were offered Rum Nitty & Ill Will, he didn't mention the DMV guys.

He also hinted at there being a surprise battle. If there is a surprise battle, we know Jakk & Ryda will be one team. We will see who the other half is, cross your fingers for Marv & Quest.

Rum Nitty said Math & Cortez were last minute replacements, because their match-up was switched with another team.

No respect for the vets

:francis:

Math's whole "Milly bot" sequence was super duper fire though

Man, get on how you can bro. This life is all about politics and who you know. Getting in the door through Hollow sounds dope as hell if you can do it. Don't worry about how it looks. Your talent is going to take you further, but knowing the right people helps a lot. You're already better than a lot of dudes who have gotten PG try outs and some actually on the URL roster. You deserve to be heard.

Hell yeah. And we've never heard about Hollow snaking anyone, back-biting, trying to take credit for other people's success, etc etc
We have no reason to believe he's not genuine.
Walking in those rooms with Hollow is most certainly going to make a big difference.
