The problem isn't the fact Mook got pistolwhipped.
The problem is there were TONS of ways Rex coulda flipped the situation without embarrassing Mook

Rex is full of shyt a lot of times, but I don't get this angle.

Let's just say you and your cousin are in the same crew. You pretty much started the crew, but your cousin has become the most popular member.
A nygga that runs in some of same circles as you do, pistol whips your cousin and sends him to the hospital. Your cousin doesn't want to retaliate in the same fashion. Dude who pistol whipped him is running around gloating about it, and you're PISSED. Now your whole crew looks soft by affiliation.
This same dude approaches you after you just won a large sum of money, jokingly saying he's going to rob YOU. Why? He bullied your cousin already, so he thinks he can do it to you.
Your response to him is "Just because you did that shyt to my cousin doesn't mean I play that type of shyt at all"

So who was it that made the mistake?

I don't think what Rex said was cool, but it didn't come out of the blue. I just think we're focusing more on the statement, then everything that led up to it.

Let's not act like that Math/Mook situation didn't linger in battle rap for a long azz time. Battle fans wanted to see Math battle Mook for years just so Math could talk about going upside Mook's head. It effected Dot Mobb's reputation for years.
Cal exposed it on stage vs K-Shine and URL edited part of it out of the footage, look at the response from the crowd. Then look at how emotional Mook gets later on in that battle.
