Nah his 3rd was okay, his second was terrible tho. Like bad for anybody not just Lux

Had it flipped around. The 2nd was ok and the 3rd was terrible from the last time I saw that battle. If anything, I had Ars clearly winning it 2-1.

The way Lux starts his second kills the momentum of the battle completely.

It could have been a classic one rounder.

Yep. No complaints about Lux's 1st. And Ars was pretty much ready all three rounds with a few spots that were ok but he was way more on point.

Word is that Jayblac canceled Champion Of The Night and he isn't raising money again.
Damn, that was quick.

He should have never been doing in in the first place. I agree with what Hollow said about the leagues being responsible for any performances bonuses. JayBlac leading that charge just lacks transparency since he’s supposed to be a third party.

I agree. I felt like some bias could play out more in the long run of rewarding Champion Of The Night. Plus, maybe pay structures for small to big leagues would be cool, too. I like where Jacblac was going with it but if The Champion is getting paid to judge battles and show up to events, thats even more organization for the awarding Champion Of The Night.

Overall, his platform should not have to do that if the league is invested in paying these battle rappers. At this point, I'm not sure what other kind of incentive could placed before some of these guys to consistently show up, not choke, and give good performances. Money isn't the answer...partially it is but not just that it seems.

The biggest issue is the leagues keep booking certain rappers for multiple battles at a time and not utilising their entire talent pool. NJT can fukk up on SM7 because he knows he’s already been booked for SM8. If the leagues booked rappers one battle at a time, it would make performances mean more because shytting the bed could be the difference between being on the next card and sitting down for a while. Rather than giving him a plate, why not book Jerry Wess or Mr Wavy (who’s last battle was a win against NJT).

Also, URL created this beast. Smack is on camera sayin he didn’t mind that Surf only came with 2 rounds at Nome and they insisted on booking Chess for every card when he was fukking up.

Once these hit, man, ya brother gon have to hold you up
*Crowd goes apeshyt for a while*
*calms down, roc goes back to rapping*

Get close enough, then DOSE you up!
(Crowd erupts again)

:smhcraig: nikka barely said one line

I was there for that. I remember someone harassing Roc before the battle, telling him how tired he is of hearing him saying "That's light".

From what I remember, one of the mics was malfunctioning.
During JC & Roc, JC had the bad mic. During Yung Ill & K Shine, Yung Ill had the bad mic. Whoever was on the left side of the stage (the viewer's right) got the bad mic. So that means B Magic had the bad mic vs Ill Will.

I think Clips had the bad mic for Surf, and STILL bust Surf's ass lmao.

Maybe JayBlac doesn't see the need to raise money when Smack can afford to pay these guys more.

I'm from Harlem. At any given time I may try to relate something to the movie "Paid In Full".

SM7, Smack's blog & the subsequent fall of NJ Twork = "I AIN'T EATING"

URL is allowing Twork to be the fall guy when THEY don't give him a rest, nor do they pay him well enough to take a break. Twork pulled the dummy move and started dissing the fans.

So the guy in the red has to be Twork... smh they gave Ryda his chain lol

So you reckon there’s credence to Verb saying the performances on URL lately have been subpar because they’re not getting paid enough to battle more (plus travel around the country)?

I think so. I know that these guys don't have it together overall in life, but they see additional revenue being generated by the PPVs and probably don't feel as though their being fairly compensated. Aren't battles paid for in advance? Is there even any additional paper work if your battle appears on a PPV? Or can the league just do whatever they want with the footage, live or otherwise?

From what we’ve been told, only guys like Lux, Mook and Hollow have ever negotiated splits from the PPV revenue. I assume everyone else just gets an upfront payment (+ flights and hotel) and that’s it. I’m 100% certain the leagues can just do whatever with the footage because URL are still sitting on battles from 3 events ago.
