Battle Rap Bars In Life, Ep. 4

Background: in my program, part of our training is to talk to patients about meds. The actors are usually pretty good at committing to the role. So it's my turn and I'm talking to a young black woman about her congestion. Her character is already annoyed and sick.

Me: The nasal spray is effective but more than three days use and it can rebound and get worse.

Her::usure: so what am i supposed to do about it if i need more than three days? Can you recommend something better?

Me: There are other options, but this stuff is honestly the most effective off jump...er, from the start.:jbhmm:

Her: :usure: my husband swore that you gave him some miracle nasal spray last time, but now three days is the best we can do?

Me: People usually rave about this once they use it. It works within five minutes (here she cuts me off)

Her: but for three days only

Me: unfortunately there's a difference between metaphors and real--... Well.. some customers aren't aware of the limitation, or they never... (Cuts me off)

Her: Sorry the difference of what?

Me: :francis: sorry, i mean to say the marketing can be misleading

Her::usure: yeah ok. I guess i don't have a choice

Me: Great. Anything else I can help with?

Her: no.

Fortunately this one wasn't recorded and graded.

Both the actor and professor in the room had good feedback, but when the professor said "colloquialisms might cause disconnects from the patient" the actor said "yeah what was that?"

Me: :mjcry:Sorry, i was in the zone and let one slip.

... Ain't even realize I said zone in the subtitles tho:whoo:
