Lux, Mickey Factz, Surf & Illmac can make an argument that they're better writers than Iron. That's it. Those guys are also RAPPERS.
JC is a great battle rapper, but he isn't a better writer than Iron Solomon.
I had JC winning when I watched it back then. I'll watch it again, but the battle just screamed "We did the best we could with the time y'all gave us". Calling a winner in that battle doesn't mean that much to me.
Buttah wasn't even bad, but Cortez dropped like 50 on him. Dudes might try to avoid this footage because it's Cor, but once you see it, you can't unsee it.
Cortez will finally get a "Cortez needs a bigger name" campaign from the fans..... but it won't be on Smack, lol

That shyt that fans said they hate when JC stops after every bar? That pacing has done JC favors since his return (B Dot, Nitty, Iron). Of course that’s not the only reason why he’s winning. Why do you think out of all the “pen” battlers, he’s had some of the most success on big stages?
Not only that, but I personally like his overall delivery better than Iron’s. Posey’s imitation of Iron’s flow is so spot on
DNA does well with battles he’s really motivated for with a lot of prep.
Mikey can write, but I don’t really care for him as a battler. He just doesn’t battle enough to really practice. He’s very boring.
Mikey Facts does well for someone that is not an active battler though.
I expect a more entertaining battle then his snooze fests with a fat Danica Zone and a Hollywood Daylyt.

Iron did out write JC in terms of every bar was direct and made sense but what I notice is Iron lacks hay makers. Iron has a lot of bars that hit you like "Wow that's really well written and clever" but rarely does he have a bar that just sticks to your ribs. I blame a lot of it on delivery. JC delivers/sells his bars better on the hard hitting punch.

Iron knows he lacks in performance, delivery, presence etc so he made a conscious decision to make sure he spends his time crafting the most well thought out bars. I'm sure some bars come easy but I would bet money Iron spends hours racking his brain over certain lines to make sure there's no flaw in it. As a writer, I understand how that feels. Where most people will say "Oh that line is dope" and move on, Iron painstakingly goes over bars until they're perfect to him.
