but this is my thing, if we are recalling this correctly(nikkas who were following the updates the battlers were putting out while they were filming) then they did, in fact, go an extra round

so how the hell did they film slaughterhouses reactions to that first set and use that?

after daylyts Three's Company bar i thought it was weird how it cut to Ars spitting his shyt, that might not have been Ars's first round, but in fact, his 2nd or 3rd verse he spit after tying with Marcus Doubt the first time

like i said, i remember them saying day and ars had to rap again in the facebook group when nikkas were leaking the details of what was going on during the battles, the same people who told us how nikkas was chokin, and how rex and day won it all, why would all of that other stuff be right, but this ONE thing be a lie?

I thought the style contrast was dope in both battles that aired, & I'm not really the biggest fan of any of those guys.

seeing Daylyt's unorthodox style vs Arsonal's aggressive approach was dope

even Dizaster's jittery style next to Math's more structured style looked dope

I'm actually looking forward to seeing their upcoming battles now.

shyt i went back in this thread and found a few of the spoilers that aint air yet if you still aint convinced the battles themselves happened over the course of 2 days, we only saw part 1 of the first Day with the 2nd half airing next week


day 2 went like:

guess they had alot of free time after they both lost

i better get an orange name for this exclusive shyt and the essays im writing

got there after six, waited till about 6 40 with like 15 other ppl in the cold (we were in bk near the water too lots of cold wind). bouncer came out, said another 20. i dip across the street and grab an expensive beer and keep my eye out the window. see ppl getting in, head back across the street. made sure we turned off our phones on the way in.

get led into a basement with concrete floors, a chain link stage setup on the left and the dj booth and judges table right in front of it. probly a hundred ppl in there tops. fairly intimate space. mooks playin dice with kay slay. math big t aye verb cortez t rex marv won hollow mook loaded lux diz day are all there, mostly on stage. slaughterhouse is at the judges table. djs playin ebonics, im seemingly the only one who knows the words. i set myself up on stage right , right next to it.

theres a few dudes with handheld cameras and one with an ipad as the teleprompter. they have kay announce shyt (he was being hilarious) instruct us to clap and start.

Diz vs Day

Diz wins coin toss, day goes first. has a hilarious round with lots of great lines. his presence wasnt much (compared to when i saw him at uw), but his material made up for it. had everyone rollin. one of the best gun onomatopoeias i have ever heard.

diz goes next, has a few misteps, but generally has some weaker material at the start but brings it up a few notches near the end of his round "gun ringin like a frequent shopper" has an incredibly well setup (with day beforehand i mean) rebuttal to one of days first lines involving kain and able and slaying my brother. day fakes death and falls over, diz pulls out ski mask and screams "nooooooooo!"

hilarious.

royce starts then they decide to deliberate. smart move.

comes back, royce still gives em both ten outa ten.
joel gives it to diz, as he went out with a bang.
budden gives it to day as he was more consistent and diz took awhile getting started.
crooked gives it to day.
day wins.

great battle


T Rex vs Big T

rex starts rappin immediately after the coin toss, and has punch after punch ... shyt was insane. had an incredible nola clap line. def performance of the night. went the fukk off.

t went in, but his pace was much slower and had longer setups. also had a fumble for a few seconds, but everyone was silent and he picked it right up again.

great battle



They did some more filming with slay being hilarious again and day and rex and mook and lux facing off.

got to chop it up with hollow, marv, lux, buddens, royce, day and diz. diz is really retiring for awhile. hollow was hilarious, met marv before and he was nice as always, budden and royce were appreciative, and day was very normal.

all in all this was a good event, but i wish we had had more rounds, even just one more would have made it so much better.

Why can't these new PG's just go the Chilla Jones route? Keep quiet about the politics, stop complaining all the time and just build their brands on other leagues. It's not that hard.

Danny Myers built his name, brand, and following before without Smack. I understand him citing those "top tier" dudes as a reference point.
