The Xcel battle is like many of his smaller battles he doesn't go as hard but comes with something and it's usually to give shine to them.
The Chilla battle is debatable imo.
.Let's talk about Xcel being underwhelming since then.
Daylyt has everything to outshine verb other than Verb's rhyming and flow.

I feel you on the part where he gives shine to smaller leagues but that reasoning is flawed fam..
are we battling or not? a loss is a loss, it doesn't matter which league you battle at
let a small league book Mook/Lux/Hollow battle and let him take a loss like Day did against Xcel and see what happens..
Day is just smart enough to have these antics and interviews to let nikkas overlook his losses and be like
"well, it's on a small league.." Xcel
"but the antic was crazy tho" B Magic
He just wants to confuse the battlerap community to a point where he never "loses"
cause if he wins, the fans wiill be like "told ya son got bars"
but if he loses, the fans will be like "well the antic was crazy/he helps the league he didnt go hard on purpose"
see where I'm goin? it's a win/win situation he has planned for a long time
he'll mix lies with real shyt to a point where people will see one, and convince themself of the other, it ain't that difficult

This is how I see it. You can call that an L yes, but it's clear he's more like giving dudes some shine that's all. Xcel has bars, but everything else Day would outshine him if he cared. He probably freestyled most of the battle. The B Magic battle I understand calling that a loss too cuz he was more about showing he can rhyme and putting on a show than battling Magic. That's basically what happened in the Rex battle with a lighter quill.
I'm fine with giving him losses but son nice. The battle where I think he kinda lost while taking it serious was the Clips battle. I think he underestimated Clips. I agree though. He tries to always makes things look funny like that. Goes back to him talkin bout Yung Ill getting booked for battles while losing lol. Almost every loss of Day's except against Clips and/or Chilla (if you give him losses in those) has like an asterisk.
So if somebody said 0-4 vs clips,chilla,rex and magic, I couldn't argue too much. Two he wasn't battling them and was putting on a performance (with rex, thats his boy light quill/ with magic heavy quill). The other two you can just say he lost, but even then it's like you gotta respect that hes nice. If somebody doesn't like his style, I get it.
Xcel needs to show more. He was good in the 1vs1vs1 battle with Zay and Bulletz. He need to come like that more while sometimes delivering to make punches hit harder. The fact that he has the necessary pen makes it easier for him to improve.

What was I thinking? I was thinking best case scenario he realizes he has to come with it given the material on him and past performances, but then I remembered.... he got a Ya Swags off faq sauce tat.
This could look ugly.
I'm glad he did that now that he explained it further. They can patch things up and get things rocking right. They just gotta be respectable and take advice from people already in the culture. It only makes everyone rock with them more cuz they have the money available to them.
