People don't know about the era if you going to a rival hood to battle a nikka and y'all just battling in front of the building, all their goons around with guns and you still gotta spit your hardest, disrespectful shyt amongst nikkas who are already rowdy, for no money. These new nikkas would be shaking in their leggings.
thats the thing, when all that fight klub shyt was going down, these nikkas would be shook to leave the spot after it was over. and at this point all these dudes know eachother, and have for years now, but when they money started to get a little bigger, these dudes were plotting on eachother.
they didnt have the foresight to know they would be getting checks (hopefully) with these same dudes for years to come.
as far as battle rap being trash before, thats just not true. like fresh said, just a different era. i wont comment directly on mook cause i'm biased, but you can see how the style has evolved overall
