Kell Brook-Carson Jones Rematch Confirmed For 7/13 - Boxing News
By Terence Dooley

Eddie Hearn has confirmed that Kell Brook will rematch Carson Jones on a "Huge night of boxing" at Hull's Craven Park Stadium on July 13. Brook-Jones II will be joined by Luke Campbell's pro debut and the Commonwealth lightweight title showdown between Hull's Tommy Coyle and Liverpool's Derry Mathews.

Brook, 29-0 (19), suffered a broken nose en route to a decision win over Jones, 35-9-3 (25), last year, but has been unable to move forward with his ill-fated showdown with Devon Alexander. A rematch with Jones will give the Sheffield-based boxer the opportunity to shed some ring rust, he has fought not fought since wiping out Hector Saldivia in three rounds in October, and help get his world title bid back on target.

Campbll, 25, won bantamweight gold at the Olympic Games and is ready to take his professional bow in front of his hometown fans. "We've got a big venue for this one and we can't wait to take Luke back to Hull," said Hearn when speaking to BoxingScene about the show.

Brook NEEDS to dominate this time around.....

Floyd vs Juan Manuel Marquez was a catchweight fight:hula:

true but a catchweight to favor Marquez. not Floyd. when he said that, he was meaning catchweights in his favor meaning the belted fighter melting down but still putting his title on the line. like Oscar did with Bernard. Manny did with Margs, and SRL started in his fight vs LaLonde.

Floyd agreed to do 144 and he was 146 which JMM got an extra $600k. so basically, concessions were made for JMM. Floyd still was picking on a smaller fighter...but the point I want to make is about the catchweight for a title at higher weight.

i wouldn't call that picking
marquez was ranked number 2 pound for pound and he called floyd out
he's lucky he even got a catch weight
floyd had to move to 154 to fight oscar
it was unprofessional for floyd not to make weight
but even marquez knows that those 2 extra pounds got nothin to do with how badly how outclassed he was. you never hear marquez mention floyd's name cause he already knows the deal

The thing is the fight was never a catchweight it just had a clause that Mayweather would have to pay for every pound over 144, by the way Team JMM was looking at the scale it appeared they were sure Floyd would weigh over the weight. You never see JMM complaining about the pounds, even for a article last week he said he'll never fight Floyd again because he would get taxed again in the same way with no excuses and but but but's

Bottomline is if Floyd doesnt fight Saul Alvarez at 154 lbs.....it's gonna be another duck on his resume.

If he never would've fought Cotto at 154 and talked slick about Pac and his opponents being comfortable, he wouldnt be in this position.

All he can do now is pray that Alvarez loses to somebody:yeshrug:

I'm not saying Canelo would win, because I think Floyd would still win the fight, but fights are won in the ring....not on message boards.

Floyd's legacy cannot take another duck on it.

its not a duck and its not the same thing. Floyd fought twice for 154 lb title. both times his opponent weighed in at 154. Pac fought once. His opponent weighed in at 150. thats the difference.

Pac wanted a title in that division but didnt want his opponent to scale in at the limit. Margs couldve probably made 147 without issue, but Pac wanted the belt in another division. Its that simple.

The best thing Floyd can do is to allow Canelo to come in at 154 like he did with Cotto, then give that bytch a rehydration clause so people can hop off his dikk. thats fair. charge his ass for ever pound he goes over 160. Floyd aint say he wanted to fight a MW if thats the case he'd been fought Serge.

Hit this :putamadre: hard with penalties so he will think twice about coming in as a LHW by fight time. If he comes in at 154, no excuses...but lets not act like people wont say he was too green or overhyped when he gets that work!

this despite him believing he couldve done better against Floyd had he been a fully saturated WW....but now that he is, he admits, Floyd is the best....this coming from the guy that starched :manny: and said he has nothing else to prove by fighting him for a 5th match.

:salute: JMM

let's see ward's best matches

the best ward fight was against kessler...he fukked kessler up..badly

ward vs froch
ward vs abraham
ward vs dawson

all were entertaining fights
The only Ward fight I care about and matters...

Ward vs. BHOP
Ward vs Martinez
Ward vs Chavez
Ward vs Tarver

In other words Ward need to sit his vanilla boring ass down because all the fights that matter wont happen for him unless he drain or move up

when I say picking on, I mean Floyd aint gonna get credit for beating the #2 P4P guy because he was a lightweight. just like he aint gonna get full credit for beating Canelo at 147 or 154. he truly cant win.

What did being P4P get SRR? Damn near 200 fights and he died broke with Alzheimers. Floyd aint tryin to go out like that.

He has already. nikka is fighting paulie..:pachaha:

I personally think Al Haymon runs shyt. He tells floyd who to fight(like broner).

Much as I shyt on Bob I will tell you this.under TR he fought good tuff competition.

Who on TR was better competition than ODH, Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, JMM, a undefeated Hatton, a 4 division champ Guerrero I'll wait.................:stopitslime:
