Hell Motel is essentially a new season of Slasher. It's the same style and similar level of gore, storytelling, and acting. That's not a negative. It's a decent time-killer so far, just nothing special.
Might check it out. If Slasher is the show I think it is, I saw it before. I remember thinking it was a decent series. Think I almost dropped it in S3 because of the gay shyt, I think that season had something to do with an apartment? I remember seeing the season after that one about the rich family, I dont think I knew there was a S5 though. So I'll probably check that out then check out Motel.

That's the right series. The first two seasons are definitely the best of the bunch. They haven't recaptured those since, but they're still consistently halfway decent or better.

I thought it was a movie at first and not a series, idk why they didn’t include Slasher in the title lol.

Caught the first two eps tho, it’s pretty straight for what it is. Already got a grasp on who the killer might be, but I’m enjoying the ride. Recognized Brancati’s fine ass right away, who I knew from watching Degrassi years ago but never knew she was a series regular here.

First kill of the crew was kinda underwhelming. The second one however played around with one of my biggest fears. :picard:

”If you scratch my back with a butcher knife, I’ll scratch yours.” :lolbron:

My only complaint is that starting off an episode with a flashback of Ruby and Portia made it kinda obvious who will bite the bullet in the end. If that’s the norm with this series, then eh. Not the end-all-be-all tho.

Got Freddie looking like a dinosaur-humanoid hybrid from Jurassic Park

:scust:
Jackie Earle Haley’s Krueger actually had some cool brutal moments, it’s too bad his design looked like some AI slop before AI slop was even a thing.

I feel like every country but the U.S. has good subway platform horror. Britain, Japan, and Korea all understand how creepy empty subway platforms can be late at night...it feels like America could make a great movie using NYC. Instead, the closest thing we have is the Midnight Meat Train which barely takes advantage of the Subway setting.

I completely agree that the glaring weakness right now is that they're telegraphing way too much. If it stays predictable, the fun of the series starts to dwindle. That's a big problem with the last Slasher season too (the Ripper).

I'm torn about the dialogue. The Slasher shows have always been loaded with campy stuff, but this could be overload if they don't reel it back a bit.

Anyone here saw Rosario?

Fell very flat to me...and unsure why it was filmed so dark. Plus, for a movie lacking substance the main star showed no skin at all
It was on my radar, but I've hear mostly disappointed takes about it. So, I pushed it to the backburner.

Pleasantly surprised by this budget horror:

It starts off like a very typical, somewhat corny summer camp horror...then around a third of the way through, it veers way left...then it goes even further off the path.

It's only an hour and a half, so I think it's worth a watch. Marshmallow hit me with a big enough twist to make me curious about others' takes.

Reposting because I really do hope a few of yall give this a shot. I think the plot and the fact that they had a $100,000 budget to pull it off is really endearing.

It's Friday the 13th if it was actually about the kids, I might watch Lost Boys every week but I've seen my last kid movie. I'm 47 with no kids and ain't having none no time soon.

I'd argue the Friday the 13th vibe is a fakeout. There's a whole crew of Jasons, a conspiracy, and a sci-fi twist that actually feels fairly earned. My movie comparison would give away the best twist for people who might check it out, so I'll throw it in spoilers.

It starts off like it's a camp slasher but the twist is you're really getting the Stepford Wives but about the kids.
