One thing about 2.0 is the audience scores are actually really good. But I'm not interested because it looks like an action-comedy :mjlol:

The marketing flopped bad. The first movie blew up partially off the strength of a two second viral clip of Megan dancing. They chased that viral moment and got nothing out of it.

The sad thing is it'll still make a profit. It was a 25 million dollar project and made 17 million off global and domestic sales in week one. So it's a flop compared to the original, but it'll probably still bring some extra money in. Just nowhere near what they projected. I've mentioned this before, but I think the best comparison is Don't Breath 2. They had a surprise hit and decided to turn a serious threatening villain into a kind of anti-hero. That one also managed to be profitable but was a major flop compared to its predecessor.

Online community been telling me breaking even isn’t considered a win nowadays. According to people, Thunderbolts and recent Captain America were flops.

They got a spin-off on the way with SOULM8TE that will supposedly lean back into its sci-fi/horror roots, but reading the premise for it…I can’t help but feel like Companion already stole a bit of its thunder.

Blum said he wants to get back to making theatrical events and it made me think…damn, I haven’t felt like that in a long ass time with their stuff. Halloween (2018) was probably the last time for me.

Hate to say it, especially for Thunderbolts, but both of those films did lose money in the end with their theatrical runs.

There's been a few AI Boyfriend/girlfriend gone bad horror movies. That and pregnancy horror have been the most abundant imo.

Were the other two aside from Companion any good? Not my favorite sub-genre, but willing to peep.

Megan fox walks around in lingerie but the plot was trash

Netflix

Pretty much this.

I remember the non robot boyfriend in TIM was a terrible character. Between the 2 Subservience is more entertaining but neither are great.
