War & Peace
I watched Raw Meat. I heard it’s getting the 4K treatment and I don’t think it deserves it. It’s not a bad movie, but it’s not a film that needs an upgrade.

Yeah, Next of Kin and Wrong Turn both hold up imo. Wrong Turn better than Next of Kin, but there are some really clever and novel ideas for found footage horror in Next of Kin (like the part where she gets lowered into the dark room and has to wait to be pulled back up while you hear something getting closer).Rewatched Sinners, now that it's on Max. It's so good.
In honor of MEGAN 2.0 completely changing its tone and flavor, I'm rewatching some of the sequels that I think pulled a vibe-switch off more effectively. Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin and Wrong Turn (2021).
they definitely going for sleaze but the chicks they picked aint as gifted as Hewitt or SMG during her first season of Buffy.Yeah, Next of Kin and Wrong Turn both hold up imo. Requels don't have to suck...but I think I know what you did last summer is gonna be a letdown.
That Love Hewitt / Michelle Gellar killer combo was like the ultimate school crush tandem. I was 12 and Buffy was my favorite show off the strength of me thinking SMG was my future wife.they definitely going for sleaze but the chicks they picked aint as gifted as Hewitt or SMG during her first season of Buffy.
no crawling thru the ice machine with a tank top two sizes too small here

Climax was decent and original, based on true events..and how were the black characters depicted/acting like animals? The entire film was about the entire dance troop spiked on acid.On a French horror binge and was enjoying martyrs, frontiers and inside. Love all of those
… But what the holy fukk was that Climax film bullshyt. That’s one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. Read through a bunch of analysis thinking maybe I missed something. It’s a racist peice of shyt film. Has the black people acting like animals. fukk Gaspar Noe
His films are shock value bullshyt

New Horror Film From the Director of 2025's Sickest Stephen King Movie Gets an Eerie Preview
"You'll be sorry when you see me sliding down our cellar door." Wait, what?movieweb.com
Wtf, him and yorgos are in a fukking race. Longlegs was just last year. The monkey this year and a whole other movie?
Throw Wes Anderson in there too
To me it seems like Oz Perkins is finally able to make movies that he wants, and is going for it. I don't blame him at all. As long as he makes Neon money like James Wan did for Blumhouse I don't really see him stopping.
He made a deal In May with Neon since he's been making them money.
Neon Inks First-Look Deal With ‘Longlegs’ & ‘The Monkey’ Director Osgood Perkins
Here's a table of the box office for Neon produced films. He's in 2nd and 3rd so he's their guy![]()
The cool thing about Perkins' success is how much enthusiastic support he had from the horror community well before he hit this level. The Blackcoat's Daughter is my favorite movie of his, and that dropped in 2015. I know a bunch of horror heads that were big fans of it and had that "I can't wait to see what else this guy does" energy. A decade later, he's carrying the horror wing of Neon.Throw Wes Anderson in there too

Nah, it's not just a flop compared to the original, it's just a flop period. They also may end up taking a loss on it too. The "rule of thumb" in Hollywood for a movie to breakeven is for it to make 2.5x it's budget. So it would need to make 62.5M and has only made like 32M so far, with a 63% drop this past weekend, only bringing in 3.8M domestically. The sad thing is it'll still make a profit. It was a 25 million dollar project and made 17 million off global and domestic sales in week one. So it's a flop compared to the original,
Wes has been on one this decade. Guy Ritchie’s another lol. Always coming out with some new shyt, for better or worse.Throw Wes Anderson in there too

It reminds of Ti West. He dropped House of the Devil in '09, and I consider it a cult-classic for the horror heads. But his career really took off when X dropped 13 years later in 2022.
Seeing horror directors go from popular within the niche, to hitting crossover success and doing numbers with the mainstream is awesome.
