This will depend how the next one does
I get why people didn’t like it

But I went in knowing there’s a trilogy and the ending just reminded me of a season finale that proved there would be another season

As a stand alone I get it

But it feels like a complaint that will be forgotten in a few years when the series is complete and people can watch all in order

I get it tho

Here's one that's got no real hype, but it's on my radar. The guy who wrote and directed it has acted in projects for the dudes who made Resolution and The Endless. They produced this, so I have faith that they helped him make the most of the indie budget. Plus, I love alien abduction stuff and think we could use more horror in that style.

This was well-directed and acted, but the writing left a bit to be desired. It was too on the nose with its themes (impending fatherhood, mental health, etc) while leaving the actual story too damned ambiguous. The first half had me hooked because of some really creative sequences, but too many "it was a hallucination/dream" hits meant that I stopped feeling tension and just assumed things weren't real. That might be what the intent was, but it also cuts into any suspense.

The ending is also super ambiguous. It points in a general direction, but doesn't give much in the way of firm explanations. Though maybe I'll find some Reddit sleuths who put together the breadcrumbs and made a meal out of it.

Anyway, it's not terrible. It's got some very cool sequences and ideas. But it didn't live up to the quality of Resolution of the Endless imo. I had to feed my itch for conspiracy thrillers by rewatching Under the Silver Lake for the umpteenth time (now that's a movie that does ambiguity right).

That Sweet Revenge short was just a mess of senseless bullshyt. :scust:

At least the violence and gore was solid.

Thought so as well. If most of the kills werent off camera , I may have liked it more. Ozempic Jason went the hell off and was only good thing about the short. Dont know about the same dude being in a feature length film though.

I think it was @storyteller who said it looks like they’re trying to connect it to Jason Goes to Hell? If so, it could have been done better.

what really pissed me off was the girl finding the machete. fukkin stupid. I’m supposed to believe Jason didn’t see it there? :stopitslime:

The film was fukking good until the agenda bullshyt revelation crap
The cult shyt was so fukkin’ corny. Hate it because the rest of the film had its moments that were genuinely unsettling with the added feat of not having the humor undercut them. It definitely restored the feeling in some respects.

Bring Her Back is still the horror film of the year for me. Sometimes less is more.

Yeah, the possession stuff was basically a concept out of Goes to Hell. Though, in that one, there was a single demon worm that carried Jason's essence. So, having Jason alive with a second person possessed or controlled is new. But it feels like an expansion of the old idea.
