I'm three episodes into the new Alien show and loving it. Romulus was a great return to form for the series, and this is continuing that trend with potential to be even better. Though it does feel more like Aliens than Alien, which is to say there's a lot more action than pure horror.

I feel like this also bodes well for the new Predator movie. It feels like these guys have hit their stride with the two properties. Whoever's putting these together oughtta get their hands on the Riddikk properties. They could body a Pitch Black remake or a movie version of Escape from Butcher Bay.

Alright, I'm gonna need you to hear me out...

This is some budget horror from 2009. A lot of it comes across as campy. The acting is...not great, but it has some familiar faces. The plot is scotch tape, bubble gum, and Elmer's glued together. But a bunch of the kills are genuinely good! We're talking over-the-top violence with very well-made practical effects. The quality was so good, I looked up the director. His directing credits top out at a Teen Wolf episode, but his makeup and effects credits are sprawling with some bangers in there.

So, this is effectively a showcase for some really good kill effects in the form of a slasher. In an alternate universe, this movie's Terrifier a decade earlier. It even had to be edited down to cut some of the gratuitous violence in certain countries.

Laid to Rest as a movie...hella mid, mostly forgettable. But the kills are so good that I think it's noteworthy and maybe even worth a watch for horror heads...especially since it's a "never-mentioned" horror.

Also, Lena Headley's in this. It's cathartic to see Cersei suffer through a horror movie.

Sequel is worth a watch too.
