I've been listening to history of characters on YouTube over the past couple of weeks (Comics Explained, ItsSuperEffective, Variant Comics etc), and when listening to the entire history on a recap, I can say with Marvel Quesada really fukked things up as EIC. Even hearing the recap of stories I hate, I was like okay it made sense in overall scheme of things, but everything shifted when Quesada started his plans. But they've actually made me want to go back and get the stuff I was out of comics during, because the stories sound great when paired with everything else.

DC has always been a convoluted mess. Variant doesn't get enough respect as a publisher.

Sideways is such a Spider-Man rip off it hurts :dead:

Lost his parents, his best friend is an obvious Gwen Stacy (or Mary Jane in certain versions), he has an 'Uncle Ben' moment when
His adoptive mother gets killed
and they even do a "great power comes great responsibility" reference.

That said, I did enjoy the first trade and think it's a shame it's getting canceled. They should do a new volume under the Wonder Comics imprint. I know it was DiDio's baby, but this exactly the kind of title Bendis would be perfect for.

I have enjoyed Sideways. That book and The Terrifics were the only books to come out of Dark Knights that I continued with past the first 2 issues.

I hope once Sideways get canceled that he ends up on one of the DC teen team titles.

Call me crazy, but I wish they hadn’t brought Logan back. Laura and Gabby have more than held down the mantle of Wolverine since he’s been dead. Going back to All-New Wolverine they’ve easily had the best x-book going; only X-men Red is in the convo imo.

I hope they aren’t going to be pushed aside now that he’s back.

I also wonder if, for some kids, Laura IS Wolverine, the way Wally West is the Flash for a generation of readers, or Jon is their green lantern.
Nah Logan hasn't been gone that long. What's it been, two years? W got him in a movie last year. Plus when DC made Wally West the only Flash he had that role for 20 years and outside of the 1990 show Barry hadn't been seen in any media up until the current show. Also pretty much everyone knew Logan would be back soon because unlike anytime prior to the 2000s when characters died they didn't come back for a LONG time.

Villa Straylight.
New Transformers

Releasing two issues a month, the comic will start before the War For Cybertron, leading up to a major death that kickstarts the war. Bumblebee is confirmed to be a main character, and judging by the covers revealed, Optimus, Megatron, Prowl, Windblade, and Chromia will also be important characters.

So what are your guys thoughts on Transformers 2019? You like the idea of this comic starting before the war? Do you want to see the comic head to Earth eventually? Leave your thoughts below!

Also, here are the covers for what I assume is #1 and maybe even #2, by Casey Coller and new artist to the TF comics Gabriel Rodriguez. Looks like the characters will be heavily inspired by the Siege toyline.

Y’all are right. Honestly though, Laura has been a better Logan than Logan for about 5 years. If Marvel had been smart, I think they would have gave her the belt, pushed Old Man Logan and Logan’s Ultimate Universe son and Hunt for Wolverine and all that other bullshyt to the side, and let Laura + Gabby (+ occasionally Daken) cook. They squandered a great opportunity imo, especially in this day and age.

Question for you and the rest of my comic book brehs: Marvel or DC, who’s putting out better books right now? As a kid who wouldn’t be even read DC growing up, i think it’s DC easy, and has been for about 5-8 years. Marvel is borderline Monday Night Raw-levels of trash with some of the shyt they’ve been publishing. Some great books for sure. BUT... Needless tie-in’s, repetitive events, cash grabs everywhere... why is this not a bigger deal?

dc kinda went full tilt with the analog recently. im pretty sure marvel shouted out sideways in the last issue of spider geddon too. a waste of an event with a shining star at the end

I think DC is right now. Growing up in the 90s I was all about Marvel(in particular the X-Men and Spider-Man). I would occasionally pick up a DC book but outside of the Batman and Superman animated series I didn't really mess with DC that much growing up. 90% of my comic collection is X-Men going back to like issue #20 from the 60s. Stopped reading comics regularly in 2001 but would occasionally pick up stuff here and there throughout the 2000s. Got back a little bit during New 52 out of curiosity and slowly been turning towards DC but still mainly Marvel but since Rebirth I've been enjoying DC more. More DC I've been picking up. Been on a bronze age DC comics binge for the past 1-2 years scooping up trades and issues and now reading some stuff on the DC universe app.

Really only Marvel stuff I've been picking is X-Men but that's mainly out of habit. I'm glad the O-5 is finally gone but honestly I really haven't been feeling X-Men since Cyclop's team during the Marvel Now run. Spider-Man really hasn't been the same to me since that bullshyt clone saga from the 90s. Yeah it's been over 20 years but the stench is still there for me. :francis:

Also I'm sick of the restarts. Issues are not getting past a certain point before a restart to get a #1.
