That Miles crossover was terrible. I have to think that the Miles Morales writer did most of the writing for it.
That Maker's Return crossover needs to hurry up and get here. Outside of Ultimate Wolverine, the Ultimate books aren't quite as good as they once were.

Yea I feel some of the books are starting to suffer because of this. Ultimates in particular feels like it’s threading water. These episodic origin stories for the ever expanding cast are mostly well done but start to feel less like an Avengers book and more like reading a personalized Encyclopedia.

i.e. the Thor/Sif and Luke Cage one-offs were cool… but ok? lol. Bc they’re mostly wallpaper status on the team with nothing to do.

I thought they had something interesting with Sif back in issue #1 but they let it fade away.

Marvel's side of the DC crossover has been revealed

  • Kevin Smith teams up with Andy Kubert for a Daredevil/Green Arrow story in the Marvel/DC crossover event.
  • The main crossover title features Deadpool and Batman, written by Zeb Wells with art from Greg Capullo.
  • Other backup stories include Captain America/Wonder Woman and Jeff the Land Shark/Krypto team-ups.
  • Kevin Smith's past runs on Daredevil and Green Arrow make him the perfect choice for this iconic crossover.

Marvel has dropped the full details on the original article which runs below. They state:

"The main story starring Deadpool and Batman will be written by Zeb Wells and drawn by industry superstar Greg Capullo. The one-shot will also feature additional backup stories spotlighting other exciting Marvel and DC team-ups from a lineup of all-star talent, including Daredevil and Green Arrow by Kevin Smith and Adam Kubert, Captain America and Wonder Woman by Chip Zdarsky and Terry Dodson, and Jeff the Land Shark and Krypto by Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru. Each story will be reflected by its own variant cover. Today, fans can check out the Daredevil/Green Arrow Cover by acclaimed Daredevil artist Marco Checchetto and the Jeff the Land Shark/Krypto cover by Gurihiru. Plus, feast your eyes on an epic wraparound variant cover by Capullo.
"We're going to all corners of the Marvel and DC Universes, and the creators are having an absolute blast finding the unexpected and unexplored connections between these characters," Editor Mark Basso shared. "We can't wait for the fans to experience the same jaw-dropping moments we are! And we've got some more secret stories in the works, so keep your eyes peeled for more to be revealed!" "This has been surreal to say the least!" Zdarsky said. "Captain America and Wonder Woman are the best their worlds have to offer, both warriors for peace. Getting to explore a dynamic and history between them has been genuinely exciting." "Two ICONS meeting for the first time!" Thompson said. "It's such an honor for Jeff to get to be Marvel's ambassador in this crossover story with Krypto. Anyone who loves comics knows how rare it is for DC and Marvel to crossover, so Jeff getting to be part of this historic moment with Krypto, and Gurihiru and I getting to bring that tale to readers… well, sometimes this job is very cool."

Marvel Comics' September 2025 solicits have dropped, leading with their Deadpool/Batman crossover credited to Zeb Wells and Greg Capullo, but Bleeding Cool has already told you that Kevin Smith, Chip Zdarsky, Kelly Thompson, Adam Kubert, Terry Dodson and Gurihiru will be part of the creative team. But now we know more. Namely that the other creators will have their own Marvel/DC crossovers as back-up strips to Deadpool/Batman. And they will be;

  • Captain America/Wonder Woman by Chip Zdarsky and Terry Dodson
  • Daredevil/Green Arrow by Kevin Smith and Adam Kubert
  • Jeff the Land Shark/Krypto by Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru

Movie writer/director/star Kevin Smith has two notable runs on both Daredevil and Green Arrow. Kelly Thompson co-created Jeff The Land Shark, and both Jeff and Krypto have had significant multi-media boosts of late.

With Richard's suit and Peter's anger, Kingpin might not make it alive from this latest move :pachaha: I could see the suit going rogue and starting the "Venom" storyline for this Ultimate Universe.

What happened in the Thor/Sif book? Haven't seen her in a minute and where is Enchantress?

Finally, we are about to get the conclusion of Lazarus.

Edit: Good read, it's just been so long that I forgot a lot that has happened. Excited that there will be 20 issues to end the story. Would recommend reading from the beginning to anyone interested. One of my favorite books about a decade ago.

A chronological mess but it kind of works when you think about it I suppose. Overall, the story was good.

Question, who is the definitive voice for a character. You hear in your head while reading? Example…
  • Batman = Kevin Conroy
  • Spawn = Keith David
  • The Punisher = Thomas Jane
  • Spider-Man = Josh Keaton, Christopher Daniel Barnes, or Rino Romano
  • Wolverine = Steve Blum
  • Blade = Wesley Snipes
  • Joker = Mark Hamill

I swear Hickman is the GOAT T'Challa writer.

He's obviously the GOAT modern writer (last 25 years) and could probably make a case for top 3-5 ever, but he's actually ten-toes down when it comes to the BP character, whereas nearly every other writer be half-steppin

Practically indisputable at this point. Just compare Imperial #2 to Marvel Knight: World's End #2 (Chris Priest)

The former is GOAT-tier innovation with the character... the other is struggling to do the same ol (outdated) shyt from 27-years ago

The most hardcore BP-fans will tell you that yes CJP is the gawdfather of modern T'Challa but his retroactively heralded run was still a tough read in real time; still non-optimal with the 2nd-person perspective from a goofy white character telling the story. But it was embraced bc there was innovation within that (and limited options for the character outside of that series)

Now there may still be a great twist that happens with World's End. In fact i'm absolutely positive CJP has something cooked up, but for me i struggle to have the same patience to wade through all that excessive dense text bout nothin when i can just read Gawd Emperor T'Challa go 1v1 vs World War Hulk in a galatic space ship orbiting soverign planet Wakandan Prime...

...Hickman a wild ass white boi, all im sayin :hubie:

Would you take Hickman over Grant Morrison?
