Maybe's my age, maybe it was the pandemic - but I can't really be around them folks like that anymore.

I somehow can tolerate the BS of SouthEast way more than the BS of NW/Nova/The "professional class" of DC. I feel weird about it tbh.

I was reading through the thread
  • Georgetown
  • Spring Valley
  • A row house in Capitol Hill
  • Kalorama
  • Cleveland Park
And my skin just starts crawling on the idea of living there.
I’ll tell you the problem, You pay more and you’re just getting Southeast with a Whole Foods.

There’s rats, You can get robbed, YN’s come through any DC neighborhood near a subway station. Noise, Trash, high ass taxes, regulations and the same surly and lazy goverment employees that you get if you lived in Anacostia.

So I would defenitely live in Anacostia over Georgetown all things being considered.

100% facts

anybody else who moved away can relate?

One of the comments

"As a black woman who survived and thrived on the West Coast two years ago, I had a culture shock when I moved to the DMV. I wish my parents were alive to visit for at least a month. It's Wakanda to me

Another one, which I think is hilarious

Pookie&Jett

It’s the same for white people. There are almost no poor, undereducated white people in DC. Move somewhere else, and you get exposed to people that you’ve only seen on TV, and it’s a shock.

Anybody know what the deal is with the teen takeovers? Why congregate in an area like that and start fights? They’re definitely going to put more cops in that area, and probably enforce curfews for anyone under 18. The same takeovers were taking place at National Harbor a few months back.

It's been a minute. Rice Paper is the easiest one. Hai Duong and Hung Viet were good too. The mango dessert shop is gone though.

As far as businesses go, I read that it's 120 businesses in that little shopping center. Why the diaspora in DC doesn't have something like that is something that can probably get a grant out of the DC government to study the problem, LOL
