These dudes are slow... you’re not exaggerating when you say EVERYBODY fux with homie. You can’t deny that kinda popularity when it comes to awards.


It’s either denying possibly the last budding icon of this music shyt or giving it to a fake deep/woke rapper or giving it to a newfound fake deep/woke rapper.


Decision seems pretty clear to me.

I didn't watch the Grammys and I don't have any kind of seething hatred for Bruno Mars

With that said :
"Fake deep woke rapper" is a pretty poor description of Kendrick Lamar.

We REALLY need to make The soul train Awards a thing again. I’ve been saying that for years.

Also if you clean up the BET Awards a bit it could be dope again. People forget but the BET Awards used to be a VERY good showcase for our black talent

All those pictures of past shows that got posted should be making these artists feel real guilty. Instead of making a conscious effort to fix that and re-prioritize those shows, we'll have Beyonce continue to pull Houdini tricks to leave the BET awards early and all this "well they're on tour in Mongolia so they can't make it" garbage. Whitney Houston toured relentlessly and still had time to go to the Soul Train Awards to snatch up Bobby Brown, get booed and be called a sell out.

It's been good for a while in spite of the fact that much of the show is built off respecting the old guard. If you wanna see an award show that actually validates artists like Ledisi, Soul Train is where you go.

say what y'all want about Bruno, but Bruno Mars actually attends most of these award shows (Kendrick to an extent does too). Too many of these acts think they're too good to show these establishments that give them a major platform love.

There's so much talented black technical people out there to get it right, in terms of audio/cameras/etc.

They should make their own academy of song writers and make the Soul Train awards an event. Add people like Stevie Wonder, Steve Stoute, Pharrell etc to the board, make it an official thing. Right now they just get performances by giving awards to certain artists. No more of that.

Black talent is insane. If done right this could be an amazing showcase. Just gotta get the money right lol.
