There's so much talented black technical people out there to get it right, in terms of audio/cameras/etc.

They should make their own academy of song writers and make the Soul Train awards an event. Add people like Stevie Wonder, Steve Stoute, Pharrell etc to the board, make it an official thing. Right now they just get performances by giving awards to certain artists. No more of that.

Black talent is insane. If done right this could be an amazing showcase. Just gotta get the money right lol.

I mean it's not inconsistent like the BET awards but it could be better. I sometimes watch old soul train awards and you see how the biggest black artists were constantly there. The hosts were big. The performances were big. I'd love to bring that back.
