I think he's talking more about the technical stuff, not the music itself and if its sonically pleasing to the listener, that's something else, fans definitely have a say so in that part because it's all opinion based. When it comes to the mechanics of rhyming and the skill level certain people have, fans don't really have enough knowledge in that department to be taken seriously when discussing who is more skilled than who, I'd rather hear that from someone who is highly skilled themselves

It doesn't really make sense because this is art not sports, certain rappers can't even explain why they are nice. The most skilled rappers are the most skilled rappers because people say that they are the most skilled rappers based on different sets of parameters some explainable others not. If Lupe says Meyhem Lauren is a master but Budden says he's trash, what is he? If Joe says Jay Elec is trash and Jay elect says Joe is trash, are they both trash?

People want to be able to do analogies to sports all the time, of course it's hard to judge how hard it is for a player to drop 3 last second in ot in game 7. It's not as hard to understand why Joe Budden was nice.

I don't think he's saying you can't judge if a rapper is good or not, but you can't judge "master tier of the craft" unless you know what to look for, and if you're not a master, you wouldn't know what's the criteria or how to properly judge it.

I really could go in on this subject from the prespective that I produce music. You look at it differently when YOU start to be apart of the art form. Since getting back into producing music and taking it serious it hard to look at it from the everyday fan or everyday Joe prespective.

For instance and example my favorite producers to study is JDILLA and MADLIB. Once you get past "how good they music sound" you realize it's a lot of technique their. It some master level shyt going on in them beats . I get everything Lupe is saying ....

I don't think Budden thinks Electronica is trash, he probably just doesn't think he's "that", like an alien, but I'm sure he thinks he's a highly skilled mc. Lupe is explaining the specifics of his skill set, he can "explain why he's nice", a lot of what he is bringing up is stuff "the people" don't even notice when listening to a rapper, only other great rappers pay attention to and acknowledge the technical aspects like that. And again, this is all about a Skill discussion, if we're discussing what album is hot or not then that's more subjective, I'd hold Lupe's opinion and anyone else's in the same regard.

If I'm looking to buy a sword I would rather hear from great bladesmiths and metal forgers or whatever they're called if I'm trying to see which one has the best quality and durability and perfect flexibility and all those type of things, this is what they do, they know what they're talking about.

No doubt...but I mentioned that too. How high they rank someone varies, but them other elite mc's you named would never say "Budden is trash" because they understand skill...whether he's alien tier or just highly skilled would be the discussion, is he a 7 or a 10 out of 10. And on the flip, I can guarantee you that madd fans would say Budden is trash and got no skills, lol.

And I think Lupe is "lying" about Electronica because he is muslim and pushing that hard, I'm sure he thinks he's dope but not this "Master" that he's claiming he is.

the album’s sucks and it’s really some bullshyt tbh

it’s has bad beats, the mixing is awful

the lyrics aren’t even impressive cause you could’ve guess all the content

I don’t trust anyone that claims to love this project. They’re just happy to get some new Jay elect

I like it but I was never a fan of Jay elec or waiting on him I just enjoy the music. I don't feel underwhelmed like some becuase I didn't have any expectations for Elec really. Nice to hear Hov going in though
