If GSP doesn't fight Silva he should fight Hendricks. Silva hasn't fought Franklin in years so not sure what you mean by that. A BIG payday for Dana means a BIG payday for GSP and Silva.

I understand the payday, but gsp needs to fight Hendricks and silva needs to fight whoever they throw him up against before the 2 meet, but it's also not only about money, if Dana pulls what could be considered 2 super fights, gsp vs silva, and jones vs silva he will have done what his boxing rivals couldn't do with mayweather vs pacquiao and we all know Dana loves to be on top of the fighting world.

I'd rather see jones vs silva, gsp is a great fighter but he can't beat silva, jones on the other hand has at least a chance. That being said I read this morning that gsp and silva will both fight once before it happens, or at least that's what Dana said he wants so we will see

Hendricks is young and there are fights for him still. If he's worth his mettle than he'll run through those guys too. The superfight lost some luster after GSP took such a long time off though.

If GSP fights Diaz and assumes that he wins then the GSP vs Silva Superfight buzz would be crazy. I kind of think that might be the move to make but a Diaz upset would ruin a lot of money to be made.

Then again if Diaz wins, it might be a Diaz vs Silva superfight then. Diaz could talk up that fight so well.

the time for that Super fight was somewhere between when GSP mauled Penn and Anderson going nuts on Maia in Abu Dhabi.

Georges is going to flat out have to say "I want no parts of that dude" at this point. Kinda how Forrest did when they asked him to fight Lyoto Machida back in the day.

The fight is way less about "historical significance" as Rogan keeps saying and basically a cash grab at this point IMO.

If Anderson wins, for the most part it'll be met with the "Well he IS bigger so " sentiment

If GSP does it's because "Anderson is old" and he just held him down the whole time


I'm not mad at it from Silva's perspective, he's just trying to cash out since he's got what 2 fights left, is the greatest ever without question. .. why let someone (Weidman) attempt build their name off you.

(I do think he needs to vacate that belt tho if he's not feeling fighting up and comers/contenders anymore)


Fight GSP, win THEN cash out against Jones, he fights Jones first, loses somehow and theres likely no GSP fight. We'll see tho, they're creating talk, interest and trending topics which is the point I suppose.
