Would love to see a Big Country rematch against JDS.

Why? Like the first fight, the rematch would be a one-sided beatdown by JDS. Roy's best bet would be to take the fight to the ground, which would not be an easy task considering JDS's impeccable TDD and his ability to spring back up when he does get taken down.

Faber/Cruz headlined its own card with Wanderlei/Leben and Tito/Bader as the main under card bouts and if I recall correctly still did respectable PPV numbers.

161 card looks solid to me, the light heavyweights all might be 5 years out of their primes but they're still all top 10 in that weight class and have name recognition.

How can you hate on the 162 card when only like 4 bouts have been announced? :comeon:
so rashad fell off the moment he beat Liddell now? This guy :heh:

That fight was back in 2010, and Roy is one of few ppl who has withstood JDS's attack. He didnt get dropped once. Since then, Roy has looked in better shape, and as you say Roy does have a solid ground game, and hopefully that 2nd Cain match may give Roy some game plan help.

The real question is, why would you want to see JDS vs Hunt? Hunt's ground gm compared to Roy's isnt even a question. If you say he has a strong chin, so does Roy, he didnt get dropped once. Roy jus ran out of gas. Every1 is excited because Hunt beat struve, well Roy got a tko win too against Struve.

Let Hunt fight Barry dat match would should be very entertaining, put on the same card herman vs lavar, have like a lil mini tourney outta these str8 sluggers and the winner should then be granted a top 6 fighter. or get to welcome back Reem.

The problem is, Roy's not Cain, not even close. JDS was shrugging off Cain's takedowns with ease until he got rocked. Plus, Cain has been the only person to take and hold JDS down. Roy's pretty much the same fighter he was before, a rematch with JDS would be horribly one-sided and even with his iron chin, I wouldn't be too surprised to see him get KO'd by JDS.

Hunt is a top 10 HW, while Barry is not even in the top 20, that match makes no sense in terms of rankings [it would be a very exciting match though]. Hunt deserves [at least] a top 10 opponent.

Melvin Guillard is so dissappointing as a fighter :snoop:

so much athletisim, so much speed, so much power....yet he keeps losing by these damn chokes to people so much slower and weaker then him. he could easily be the top dog in his division

smh

makes me appreciate Mayweather even more...he never lets me down :smugbiden:

I wouldn't say 'easily the top dog', although he does have the potential to be near the top of the 155-pound ladder. His ground game and IQ is just horrible though. Plus, his chin isn't that great either.

Some updates (from Dana's twitter):

- 'Cigano vs Overeem in the summer'

- 'Mark Hunt and I just got off the phone and had a GREAT conversation!!'. Things could get interesting.

your gifs are showing a fight from 2010 of a tired Roy nelson floppin on da ground. dats not a knock out, far from it. Roy's been in better shape since then.

Did hunt have a nice knockout on dumbass Struve YES. Has hunt had a nice career and fought some top guys all time YES. But is Hunt really a top 10 fighter currently, hell naw. UFC can go ahead and prop him up on their so called rankings, but Hunt hasnt beaten anybody of merit sicne 2005.

Every1 keeps sayin, oh hes on a 4 fight win streak, well b4 that he was on a 4 fight losing streak. beating struve and tuchsherer isnt really sumthing to brag about and shldn't give you a fight vs JDS da former champ.

I see his ground game being horrible...but how is his IQ horrible?

to get back to what I was saying...his only area of weakness as far as fighting I would say is his ground game. if he had a decent ground game how is he losing? he faster and stronger then pretty much everyone in his class...and how is is chin weak when he's been KO'd once out of 45 fights? :wtf:

all his losses except one have come from submissions or decision.

1. Tired? Both gifs were from round 1. :aicmon:

2. I never said that was a 'knockout'. You stated that Roy 'didn't get dropped once', which is completely inaccurate [as shown by the gifs]

3. Nelson has lost to Mir and Werdum, both of whom have been demolished by JDS.

In what way does Nelson beat JDS?

If Hunt is not top 10, name me 10 better HWs.

all his losses except one have come from submissions or decision.

Guillard's lack of IQ:

He was winning his fight with Nate Diaz pretty handily. Then [for some reason] he decides to take the fight the ground and instantly ends up in a guillotine. At that moment, he made probably the worst decision possible.

Comes into the Lauzon fight with a huge chip on his shoulder. Early in the fight, drops his hands and runs right into one of Lauzon's punches, which rocks him and then, he proceeds to get chocked out. What else is new?

Is winning his fight with Jim Miller. Yet again, makes a horrible decision, this time by attempting a flying knee. Proceeds to get taken down [from the flying knee attempt] and submitted.

He has had more f#ck-ups, but those are the ones that I remember.

I didn't say his chin is weak, I said it's 'not great'. He was dropped by Joe f'n Stevenson [who has pretty much no punching power] with a jab!. He's also been dropped by Lauzon and Cerrone [who finished him]. Lauzon and Cerrone are understandable, but Joe Stevenson?

Another issue with Guillard is that he is not really willing to work his way out of submissions [not willing to fight through adversity]. He taps almost instantly.
