Man those cards are good, I can't even complain about the upcoming ones. and I agree that the Okami cut is bullshyt, the real reason he got cut was because he's not exciting. I mean Dana is always talking about how MMA is a legit sport, but he'll only push the the big names, the very best because he has too, and the yes man. a guy like okami isn't even a fun fighter for me to watch, but he definitely belongs in the ufc. Ricci getting cut is bullshyt too. Why the fukk is Amir Sadollah still in the ufc?

The Ricci cut makes complete sense. He looked absolutely terrible in his last fight and is 1-2 in the UFC. He has shown little promise and is a boring fighter. Sadollah is one loss away from getting cut as well. At least he has a winning record in the UFC [6-4], has shown some promise and has fights that are watchable [albeit not the most exciting fighter].

This sort of mindset amongst ufc fans confuses me.

Lets imagine being zuffa for a sec and assess the situation, can u honestly say okani is any popular now than he was when he fought rich franklin?no? So he basically spent his prime jon fitching and never became a star. Now hes older, and he is more tko/ko prone than he ever was.If u are not a valuable commodity (under normal circumstances) u just get fired.Are they suppose to offer him the same (or increased) contract when hes a never was on the slide? Sure it sounds good in theory but that doesnt make good business sense

That doesn't changed what he posted. Both sides can have what they think is that fighters market value and if it doesn't mesh they separate. I'm surprised people are up in arms about this. Since Andy laid hands on him what has he done to make this an issue?

Dana could have low balled okami with his offer(that was my first guest) so both parties seprated, after all he's the top 3 most asian recognizable fighter in the UFC (Him,Korean Zombie and sexyama(n/h) in no order) so he has some worth in the asian market

most people are up in arms cause he gets cuts after going 3-1 in his last 4 and you got guys like chris leban,kyle kingsbury on massive losing streaks and they are still with the promotion

You are forgetting about the business aspect. If Leben is only getting (I'm making this up), 17K to show and win bonus and Okami is getting 65K and not pushing revenue who do you think is getting cut.

Let's all reset and remember that Zuffa is about the bottom line.

You say this like its of his own making, when its a byproduct of how shytty asians fair in american mma.And aki/zombie have some traction in the states as well as asia (somewhat) I dont even think the japs know who okami is..

Leben put TUF on the map and is exciting so to mention him is like u dont understand the nature of this convo.Kingbury is mainly a pre-lim guy u honestly think hes earning that much bread?

From a sport view the cut looks BS, but from the business point of view I understand it. I may not agree with it, but I understand it. Okami has that grinding wear em down style and it helps him win a lot of fights, but they are not the big knock out or submission wins that Dana wants to promote. He wants the big exciting fights, the show time knock outs and finishes to replay on Fox Spots 1. Also, Okami suffered from the same problem that Jon Fitch had for quite a while, he was always a top 3 contender in that weight class, and he would make other top contenders look bad. Dana will be trying to build up a fighter for a future title fight, but he if faces Okami he already knows Okami gonna slow em down and mk em look bad.

Hopefully Okami goes back to fight in Japan, wins a belt and has a long reign and mks sum good money over there. All the best.

i was never a fan of wandi (his hate for ramp/shytty way he treated anderson reeked of caste system bias) but hes become almost a parody of himself since becoming a ufc fighter.
