Basically this. Janet had Whitney and Mariah to compete with along with other small timers like Lisa Lisa and shyt. Beyoncé is the only female act her label gives a fukk about. Her competition is people like Keri Hilson and ..........I can't think of anyone else at the moment. The fight is fixed.

:mjlol: so you blame her parents for not fukking earlier?

I don't blame Beyoncé nor her parents for anything. I blame the fans that act as if we're witnessing the greatest act in the world or some shyt. Musically she hasn't made any song that can stand the test of time in my opinion. I don't see a Beyoncé song that 20 years from now people will have the same affinity for like the shyt Janet did in 93. I just feel she's been forced on people and they accept it.

She's comparable to Janet and that's a tough argument but I'd definitely throw her in the ring. Mariah is more Whitney Houston's lane breh.

Aaliyah would've :sas2:

:deadmanny: The gross romanticist, revisionist of queen thot herself Aaliyah. Aaliyah would be Mya status right now. She'd be rounding 36 years old.

It's not about that tho fam. People compare LeBron to Jordan right? They compare Kobe to Jordan right? Start comparing Beyoncé to Janet Jackson instead of what's left in her genre. That's like being impressed that WCW is the best player on the 76ers.

Just because you think Janet's a better all-around performer doesn't mean Beyonce isn't still great tho. I mean look at it like this, Kobe & LeBron aren't better than Jordan but that doesn't change the fact that they're among the greatest to ever do it.

Age really doesn't matter. The way Beyoncé is being forced fed to the people you think she'll be done by 36?

I agree. I'm just saying people acting like we're seeing something we've never seen before. This isn't Kobe dropping 80 on Jalen Rose. Everywhere I turn on social media I see people acting like they've seen the moonwalk for the first time. Maybe It's just me tho. Who am I to tell people what they think is great just because I'm old enough to have seen greater things?

You can make a major argument for her music not having great lasting power, but that's another argument for another time. But fans genuinely love her shyt. It's the whole package, and I'm talking about fans who also grew up loving Madonna and Janet and Tina Turner and all those performers.

Also remember, Beyonce has been around for 15 years now. Think about it. 15 years. That's a LONG time. There's a generation of fans that know her as the single biggest force they know.

I'm just saying Ciara is a better dancer and Adele is a better singer.
And Adele's second album sold 30M worldwide. She won a Grammy for a James Bond song that went #8 on Billboard and #2 on the UK charts. Adele definitely gets her props.

"I adore Beyonce, I've been listening to her since I was about 11," the "Someone Like You" singer told French radio station NRJ. "I think her work as an artist and a singer is enviable in terms of the length of her career and how she's grown and grown, but most of my inspirations are [from] old music and sadly they have all died."

I mean you gotta realize a lot of people on social media were really too young to experience Janet or Michael in their prime. They don't really know any better and to them Beyonce is the best of the generation they grew up on. Just like a lot of those that didn't get to experience MJ in his prime and grew up on Kobe will argue that he's the greatest.
