I agree far right types did co-op this, that is obvious. But its not the whole story.
I think you overstate how united white people in Canada are on this cause. The vast majority are opposed and even virulently so. Just look at any surveys. The biggest divides are between regions, age (younger people are far more likely to be supportive), and income.
Counterprotesters Ottawa were 100% white and came from most old money parts of the city. Theyre the same people extremely in favour of every COVID policy. Most immigrants here either found it stupid or were supportive, but not enough to go in the streets. No one felt like they were in the Gaza Strip like coverage is showing. My barbershop is a block away from protest and no one even paid any mind.
On the other side the convoy supporters are rural/Western Canadian whites who are more likely to be Conservative. There are also a lot of people who arent politically aligned at all and were attracted to this cause based on the actual message. It is a white on white civil war at the core of it, but the tools being used will set bad precedents.
