Seriously though, why is this thread-worthy?

It's like lately Kobe stans have just been picking fights with people for an opportunity to keep sucking his dikk about what he did in the past because they know his great years are done.

You're missing the point, the number of years is irrelevant. It's the claim that he never was. What was the point of this post anyway? And what does this have to do with MJ?

it wasnt but 2 years ago it was "if kobe gets his 6th is he better than jordan" to suddenly debating that he was, in fact, considered the league best in a few seasons. just shows you how much bloviating has been done by the stanleys in the last several years

Jordan wasn't the best for no more that what 6 years. So what exactly is your argument. Jordan was a called a selfish ballhog, who would never win shyt or be good as Magic and Bird to the undisputed GOAT in like a 2 year span.

:stopitslime:

Jordan was the best player in the nba from 87-93 and 96-98

9 of his 15 years he was hands down the best in the nba

Stop it with this WS and PER shyt! It's ruining the game. These advanced metrics are fine for baseball, but it's amazing to me how many people will look at numbers and ignore what your eyes see.

Dwayne Wade has a better PER than Magic, Kareem, Barkley, Duncan and Malone. You see how fukking stupid advanced stats can be?!

Honestly, as someone who was (and still somewhat is) a big kobe hater, in recent years I have mellowed out on it and he does get disrespected a bit. A lot of people seem to begrudginly give kobe props ("yeah I guess he's a top 5-10 player all time :shaq2:") like even when they give him credit they cant give him credit.

Thinking about it, Id probably like kobe if it wasnt for his stans

I don't remember VC being compared to MJ, even when he was in Toronto.

They tried to give him and Kobe the next MJ tag and were debating for a while who was the better player. I remember Jordan saying he would pick Kobe before Vince if he had the choice.

so whats your basis on "best player in the league" is it

mvp? if so, he only has 1
leading scorer? if score, hes only been twice
etc

so you say he was league best "at least" 4 seasons, based on what exactly is a mystery, but you shyt on someone else who actually has an argument with a basis to it. back your random ass point up with something before you shyt on other measures

All those years that we are saying Tim was the best or Bron was the best Kobe has just as much argument though as being the best. From 2005 to 2007 I think is his best case as undisputed best player. In 06 he was averaging 35 a game but AI was right behind him at 33 a night and Bron was getting 31 7 and 7. But in 07 Bron took it easy a little bit during that regular season and Kobe still averaged over 30 with multiple 50 and 60 point games. So in 07 I will say he was the undisputed best but after that it's been Bron.

The fukking EYE TEST!!! You know the shyt that was used before all these bullshyt metrics. The funny thing is people who have played the game readily acknowledge that Kobe was the best player in the league for quite some time, it's basically numbers nerd and stat guys that argue to the contrary and their be all to tend all is PER or some advanced metric.
