Is there any program to tell the total power consumption of my pc? I think my 1200w are fine, but I wanna make sure

One my of monitors flickers now that it's in displayport (it only flickers like once a day). I can't tell if it's a psu problem or if it's a displayport problem (I've read that dp flickers from time to time) But hooking up 3 1440p monitors to one card might be the problem too :heh:

Edit: Just read that titan x sli just outputs 458 watts of power at full load. Even with my overclocked CPU, I think I'm good. :whew:

Other people are having my titan x sli surround issue with the high idle temps. It's not just me. My cards are good :whew: (though I did notice artifacting in watch dogs, if it happens in another game I guess I gotta RMA).

Watch Dogs is a piece of shyt BTW. Poor GPU utilization with no CPU bottleneck. It makes no sense. The game is trash :pacspit: (but no stutter anymore :ld:)

Is 4K gaming worth it?

Or is 1080p / 1440p sufficient?
at 27" it's kinda hard to tell 1440p from 4K. You gotta look really hard. I hear the sweet spot is around 32" for 4K. If you go lower, 1440p will probably work for you. That being said, @duckbutta swears by 4K gaming. So I dunno. Go to Frys (if you have them) and look at the 4K monitors though. Do a comparison with the 1440p ones. The scaling is better on the 1440p ones too in win 8.1 (a lot of things don't support 4K just yet)

so it's a higher refresh rate?

how does that help your game?

everything is super crisp/clear, the higher refresh rate makes motion much smoother and the monitor has motion blur reduction and a bunch of other cool settings. On my 60hz it was hard to see peoples heads poking out or someone camping in a dark corner. It's like ultrasmooth is all I can describe it. You have to be able to run a game at 144fps+ to make full use of the 144hz feature, CS:GO is one of the few games were I pull 200+ fps

Depends on what you mean by "worth it"...

On a 30 inch monitor, sitting close to it...4k is noticeably better graphically than both 1080p and 1440p...

But if you want to maintain decent framerates you are going to need two top end gpu's or one uber gpu (titan level card)

At 1080p gaming...you can probably get by graphically with a mid range card and still max out all but the most demanding games...

I wouldn't blow my budget to game at 4k...

But then again...if I was to have a budget...the budget would be based on...how much is it going to cost me to game at 4k?

Sold my 780s. But got a dude who is offering 2 of his og titans for $700. Tempting, but not worth it. Titan x is impressive, but fukk that price.:camby:

My x99 deluxe mobo is all fukked up. Anybody ever rma with Asus? :sadcam:

Gonna cop that Acer ips gsync monitor whenever its available. I didn't think it was going to be released this soon, so give us some impressions 2guns.

I'll be posting some pics of my upcoming build.

This monitor bruh, :blessed:

The image quality just takes a dump all over the Rog Swift. The IPS + better AG coating, better viewing angles, color reproduction, thank you based IPS. Never again will I deal with a TN panel. I was willing to make a compromise with the Rog Swift but not anymore now that these 144hz capable IPS panels are here. Hopefully their XR341CK 3440x1440 34" gsync curved monitor which is supposed to drop this year is also IPS cause that would be heat rocks.

Cons vs Swift: Rog Swift has better build quality (though Rog Swift build quality is the best I ever seen on a monitor), Rog Swift has better bezel, monitor has IPS glow on bottom right corner in completely black scenes. ULMB @ 100 vs Rog's 120.

Don't know if anyone else had this issue but it fixed it for me.(Issue where HDMI to PC audio had a 1 second delay)

The Issue
There is a 1-2 second gap in the audio when initialising audio streams - this is caused by the receiver (Sony and Onkyo are well known for this) and the drivers from AMD/Realtek.

Here is an explanation from the authors websites:
Quote:A/V receivers have to switch to the appropriate mode every time an audio stream is presented to them. This in itself isn't a problem, but in Windows, when the sound device is configured with more than two channels, the receiver has to switch modes every time Windows plays a system sound, a video in youtube, an mp3 in Windows Media Player etc. Because it takes the receiver time to switch modes, this leads to the first second or two of the sound being missed, which in the case of system sounds, often means the whole sound is missed.

The Fix
Download AVR Audio Guard

What does it do?
AVRAG maintains a connection between your HTPC (over HDMI) and AV Receiver, this removes the 1-2 second lag time and means audio plays as it should do.

Here is an explanation from the authors website:
Quote:AVR AUDIO GUARD sends a silent WASAPI shared-mode audio stream to your receiver, and keeps the stream open so the receiver does not need to switch modes to play other shared-mode streams. It means you don't miss any system or application sounds, and when an exclusive-mode application such as a bitstreaming media player requests access, AVR AUDIO GUARD pauses and lets it take over until it is finished, and then starts the silent stream again.
Do I need it?
If you have this issue on your system you will know exactly what I mean and it's worth installing, it runs as a small app in the background.
