You're safe under 90 though I find it strange that Crysis can heat your shyt to prime95 levels.
It's just the grass level, where it uses nearly 100% CPU

Plus, with two titans running it was already hot in my case

I just wanna be good for fallout. I think I will be, as long as it's not running my cpu at 100% or some shyt

May get better fans for my cooler. We'll see how it goes.

Crysis 3 is strange. I'm running AC:Black Flag at absolute max (like 8x Txaa) and it's near 100% on one core with both gpus at 95% and I'm only getting 61c on that core :jbhmm:

Play Crysis 3 and melt your CPU, brehs

Breh...you will be fine for Fallout 4 even at stock.

What are you trying to do, run at 4K+?

Will the Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller work on PC ?

Also 950 PRO SSD £280 for 512gb, is that good, prices finally come down massively.

They said it would, but we don't have a wireless dongle yet. Maybe there's a mini usb port on the top like the X1 controller. I hope so; I want the elite controller for my PC too

@Ciggavelli @daze23

We should probably throw up a $400ish fallout 4 build soon. The 860K and G3258 still the best processors to build around at that budget? Appears to be the case.
Yeah good idea. I dunno about the CPUs though. F4 is recommending a 4790. We gotta wait and see real world specs

:feedme:

So I plan on upgrading my desktop, mainly for FALLOUT 4...as of right now my pc can't even play Rocksmith 2014,or CS:GO, games that I play 90% of the time :francis:

New video card
New power supply
New fan
A SSD drive to go with my HD
New case

BUDGET-$600

CURRENTLY

Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i5 2300 @ 2.80GHz 36 °C
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology
RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard
Intel Corporation DQ67OW (SKTH) 29 °C
Graphics
2060W3 (1920x1080@60Hz)
Intel HD Graphics (Intel)
Storage
298GB Seagate ST3320413AS (SATA) 31 °C
931GB Seagate ST1000LM 024 HN-M101MBB USB Device (USB (SATA)) 32 °C
Optical Drives
ATAPI iHAS124 B
Audio
High Definition Audio Device

Is it essential to get a new motherboard? This desktop was free so I figured i'll try to take as much parts from it as I can. I planned on using it,putting it in my new case, also could I build something for under $600(for this month) to run Fallout at some medium specs? I planned on upgrading my CPU in December as I figured with the video card upgrade alone, i'll be able to play CS:GO and Rocksmith again :blessed:
Also F4 says it requires 8gb RAM....so does that mean I should upgrade RAM to like 12gb/16gb or am I straight? :patrice:

I have no idea about running shyt in 4k....I do know I want to be able to play this on a big monitor and possibly my LCD tv though :lupe:

gtx 970 - should be around $330

500+w PSU - something quality ("80+ Certified") from Antec, Corsair, or EVGA. this Corsair looks like a good deal

CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Newegg.com

not sure what new "fan" you're interested in. but case fans are pretty cheap

for the case I would get something cheap, but quality, from Antec or Corsair. they have a few models for around $50-70 that are pretty good. a lot of that depends on what you want it look like. and what case you get will also determine how many additional case fans you might want/need

and the rest on a SSD. I like Samsung, but they also tend to be the most expensive. anyway I would recommend 240gb or more

your 8gb of memory should be enough

I mean I figured I would need fans because a video card would require better cooling, unless the case fans would be more than efficient...though I will be upgrading my CPU within the next 2 months. But most builds i've been watching all of em just have the case fans, and a fan that is placed over the CPU processor.

Maybe an exhaust fan at the back of your case to pull the hot air through.

well it depends how many fans the case has in the first place, and how many spots it has for extra fans. I have an Antec 300 Two case. it came with a fan on top and one in the back, and I put two more fans in the front. in general you want the air coming in the front, and going out the back/top

your cpu doesn't overclock, so the stock cpu heatsink/fan should be fine. if you get an unlocked cpu in the future, you probably should get a 3rd party heatsink as well

Yea I plan on upgrading cpu in the near future...possibly stick with i5 but upgrade the ghz. Though if somehow Fallout 4 runs smooth enough for my tastes then i'll keep my current CPU,but I doubt.
