4790K should last longer than this generation, Intel haven't made any real advancements since Sandy Bridge

Not that much more expensive. For a Skylake vs Haswell build you are probably looking at a $60 premium on the Skylake CPU and maybe $10-$15 for boards with similar features. RAM cost is about the same.

Looks pretty nice, but I don't like all in ones. Too difficult to upgrade, and overheating is probably an issue.
Welp, my GTX950's reign on top was short like the Leprechauns. 
A bit of history here......
-The GTX 570 in my newer PC went kaput so I had to use my older computer.
-This computer had a GTX460
with only 4gb of RAM
-I upgraded to a GTX950 and 12 gigs of RAM
-The 950 wasn't powerful enough so after a month or so I'm upgrading to this GTX970.
-I need a new CPU though because I'm still running an i5 at 2.8ghz
I'll get an i7 next month.

I was thinking about the 980 but I don't game enough to justify that purchase. Even with that old ass i5 GTA with mods and nearly maxed out settings gives me fluid, better than consoles gameplay. Not 60fps though but I can live with that for now.
