Just upgraded to windows 8.1 and it seems like I got some sort of performance boost or is it a placebo effect?? I'm hitting 60fps on ultra according to my TR benchmark at 1440P downsampled to 1080p. Tressfx cuts that in half.
Max Payne 3 yesterday at 1440P was getting me 20-30fps while today that exact same area is hovering around 40fps.

That shyt did wonders for me I can play BF4 at 1440P on ultra/high settings with good frames. I just ran through paracel storm 48 player conquest and was hitting what looked like 50fps.

LMAO....I don't remember if you were apart of it specifically but niccas was throwing all the s/w optimization in the bushes when the focus was on the Xone...like it didn't matter...obviously H/W>S/W but S/W plays a big part and isn't neglible...goes for the goog set cornballs as well
Nah I was probably apart of it. The thing that was funny was M$ was trying to compensate for the hardware being obviously underpowered by making extravagant claims like "THE CLOUD WILL MAKE XBOX ONE 300X MORE POWERZ!!" and stuff like that and then Court started to write a thesis daily on tiled resources and DX11.2.
The only issue we had with that was cats conveniently ignored that PS4 would obviously have s/w tricks of it's own too to make better use of the H/W. They wanted to believe that PS4 was solely relying on pure hardware and no optimization. That's why you started to notice xbots spouting out some "balance" nonsense in an attempt to save face for all the defense they played for Xbox One being conclusively weaker when launch was near.
It's nothing wrong with stretching the life of hardware through tricks but another issue was the price so seeing something technically weaker costing more and touted "as good" as a more powerful version of the same thing through s/w that's not proven yet was laughable.

Other than BF4 you can most likely chalk up any boosts to a clean install of Windows.
