Yeah, I've done some short films over the past few years(they were experiments) and I'm working on getting a feature off the ground that I've written. I also like to do graphic novels and satirical comics(examples in my sig).

Good looks on that thread bro.

I'm a big fan of "killer of sheep" and other "LA film revolt" films.

Glad you enjoyed the thread. I'm trying to get more examples so please contribute. Have you made any films recently?

Why are people not getting what I have to say? Why do you think this is the point of my write up? You're being ignorant too. And I'm not afraid to call you out on it cause I usually support your posts. This is unbecoming and I can tell the point is being diluted by those that choose what they want to see and not take in the sum of the whole parts.

This is why I didn't even want to get into this conversation on here cause I know for as many of you want to pose as intellectuals...you just don't get it.

This goes beyond hip-hop and r&b...and conventional black culture. This is about the arts, creative arts, painting

I salute those that got it...and dapped me up. You get it.

If this thread is going to be consistent of comments like this...than I regret even making it.
Aye homie, :salute: to you, in my eyes one of the better posters of the Coli.

Same way they get from it what they choose, you can ignore those same posters.. Selective vision lol

I know what you're saying word for word, and have had the same thoughts towards creating positive rap tracks... Not exactly the type of music that gets heavily promoted... But you know what, I also got to a point where I'm going to make my music and get it out there regardless of if it takes off or not, I'll continue working hard to push it because that's what you do for something you are passionate for. Doors must be opened by someone.

I'm sure you know the roots of EDM with african americans, you could need a change of scenery?

Also, EDM is spreading, I didn't see the same crowds on it that are now rocking with it... Time can also be your friend in this case

Let me tell you something...go to MoMA or the Gugenheim...where are the black artists? Where are the black artists making acute installations? Where are the black abstract artists? Where are the black industrial artists? Where are the black minimalist artists? Where are the black photo realist artists?

There are black people in all these fields breh. Its not just about hustling you gotta be special/exceptional and you need to let people have an emotional connection to your work so they go out of their way to help you. Its a delicate thing and hard road. Go to any art school and the profs will tell you that maybe one person in the lecture hall may be famous one day. I almost had some shyt in the MoMA but it fell through.
