My homeboy dropped a film last year that was executive produced by Jay- Z and Nikkas still slept on it.

I liked it a lot and always suggested it to people. I thought it was a cool mix of experimental/documentary/narrative storytelling techniques and the animation was pretty cool. You should check out this thread I made about black art films : http://www.thecoli.com/threads/black-art-independent-films.135608/

Yeah, I've done some short films over the past few years(they were experiments) and I'm working on getting a feature off the ground that I've written. I also like to do graphic novels and satirical comics(examples in my sig).
Good looks on that thread bro.
I'm a big fan of "killer of sheep" and other "LA film revolt" films.

What exactly is wrong with that?looking to break away from stereotypes and be "different"...
Aye homie,Why are people not getting what I have to say? Why do you think this is the point of my write up? You're being ignorant too. And I'm not afraid to call you out on it cause I usually support your posts. This is unbecoming and I can tell the point is being diluted by those that choose what they want to see and not take in the sum of the whole parts.
This is why I didn't even want to get into this conversation on here cause I know for as many of you want to pose as intellectuals...you just don't get it.
This goes beyond hip-hop and r&b...and conventional black culture. This is about the arts, creative arts, painting
I salute those that got it...and dapped me up. You get it.
If this thread is going to be consistent of comments like this...than I regret even making it.
to you, in my eyes one of the better posters of the Coli.Glad you enjoyed the thread. I'm trying to get more examples so please contribute. Have you made any films recently?
Let me tell you something...go to MoMA or the Gugenheim...where are the black artists? Where are the black artists making acute installations? Where are the black abstract artists? Where are the black industrial artists? Where are the black minimalist artists? Where are the black photo realist artists?
