theres been 2 kanye west albums released this year bro
1 was a leak that was Dave Blunts with a Ye AI filter

The other was confirmed 100% AI

He hasn’t recorded since the vultures 2 sessions where he got his teeth replaced with solid titanium and hooked on nitrous.

Ye essentially died as an artist years ago

Exactly how is everything worse because of the battle? Seems to me like rappers are RAPPING again, I've been enjoying myself.

I think the problem is there is a certain pocket of fans that got used to a certain types of sounds being at the forefront and now that they're not the sky is falling somehow even faster than before Drake got dismantled.

You got nikkas in here sulking because Kanye and Drake don't have the same gravity. "The rap game is so boring without Ye or Drake" as they dropping albums in real time lol, ya'll don't care about them nikkas or their music like that, you feel an emotional void now that the game is trying to reset itself, put a fukking tampon in it.

I thought pop made good music after I listend to the album...the other 2 wernt my cup of tea and I guess overall I agree with you but it def left no stars

All them nikkas sucked honestly. If that was the crop of rappers that were supposed to have improved upon shyt is worse than I thought.

X, JuiceWorld and Pop Smoke dying altered hip hop more than Pac and Biggie dying IMO. It straight up destroyed the path rap was likely going down and instead we got a flood of trash women rappers and some drug addicts.

All three of those guys had arena tour potential, big album potential etc.
Rap was also still seeing rapid growth in 96-97 after their deaths.

Rap in the 2020's doesn't have that newness to it

Mainstream speaking there hasn’t been a lot of premier artists dropping. Kendrick has been on tour enjoying his victory lap. Drake just dropped some bullshyt but its predicted to debut within the top 10 so we’ll see if it has legs on its own because the label he’s currently suing doesn’t have any motivation to push it. Clipse is coming Friday. Raekwon next week. Beyond that we don’t have any indications of when the Future, 21 Savage, J.Cole, Travis Scott, or Schoolboy Q projects will drop. These are the artists that, for better or worse move the needle when it comes sales and spotlight. Prestige artists like Nas & Premier are coming at some point but thats probably a 4th quarter release and Hov is always rumored but never confirmed.

Now would be the perfect time for somebody like JID to seize the moment and claim the summer for his own. That rumored project with Metro should have been a priority 1 for RIGHT NOW. Feel like he missed a golden opportunity because that mixtape he dropped isn’t really making noise like that.

Hell Joey Badass should have had something ready for summer.

Asap Rocky might as well retire from music and just be an actor/Rihanna’s muse. Dude has ZERO motion from an album that was supposed to drop damn near 3 years ago at this point.

I just hope that with the current drop the Clipse album has legs and does well on the charts. I wanna see a lyrically dense thematically inclined album by someone other than Kendrick do really well on the charts and within the cultural landscape.

Don't do this, you cant afford to be stuck in your ways.

Hiphop is still the biggest selling genre and has been for over the last decade and still going.

I personally feel it is stale and has been weaponized to destroy the culture even still there are mega stars in hiphop.

Lil Baby, Young Thug and them command legions and legions of people. Millions of fans!

There are great album from vets this past month alone and then "New Sounds" is probably the only problem you are right about. Producers are more trash than ever!!

You get this when you kill video countdown shows and don’t care about the charts until you’re talking about sales. We are all finding our rappers through music streaming services. All the current rappers I like aren’t known by the people in my life for the most part.. I’m sure a lot of you have that going on too.
