Wow you put it into words I couldn't.

This is it right here why I can't get into Kendrick's music. Its all too limited and safe. I don't really care about generic stories about Compton. He needs to bring that life back in a way that is more personal and relatable. I feel like artists like j cole, nipsey, krit do a much better job at that. I just don't "feel" Kendrick's music like I do theirs.

Talking about personal struggles on "u" ain't personal enough for you? He was crying on the record. Some of y'all come across like you don't even listen to Kendrick, this shyt is way off base.

Only young cats think Kendrick is deep. Dude is a walking cliche. and if you've heard any rap prior to 2006, you'd know this.

as Nikki D recently said, "these young kids think hip hop started with Lil Wayne." I can understand the fascination with Duckworth if Wayne is your frame of reference.

You're older than 30 sitting here hating all day, go start a family breh. :pachaha:

The weird voices make that one feel contrived and a chore to listen to.:patrice:

That's fair. Kendrick's an observer. His subject matter is more about the world around him than himself. That's why you'll struggle to find personal songs in his catalog.

But there's nothing wrong with that, and it doesn't make him untrue to himself. He's just a good guy in a crazy world, plenty of people relate to that.

This guy makes the weirdest threads about Kendrick Lamar to the point where I look forward to them because they are so fukking funny and absurd. The psychological break down from the computer chair about a person he's never met in his life is like a text version of Dr Katz.

The last time he tried this the album sold 60k in an hour

TPAB bought potentially bought jazz back...

Did it? How so? :leostare:

Genuinely asking... :ld:

it's the most critically acclaimed rap album since MBDTF. Im sure it will have some kind of influence in the hip hop climate. It's jazzy aesthetic might inspire others.

Typical Kendrick stan

Make outladish statements. Then when asked to explain them, ramble on and go back in their hole and listen to more Kendrick :mjlol:

this is the image of the black male that the white/jewish ppl that REALLY runs hiphop, has decided to be the face of black music and in essence black men in general. We've been conditioned to think "positive" rappers are lame and corny. The super thug rapper has been forced into our consciousness for so long now that anything "different" is shunned. I hope with Cole and Lamar selling, that intelligence and lyricism is making a comeback to mainstream. Right now, its simply not "cool" to be intelligent

What's with this fakkit hyberbole ya'll keep spewing? So most Hip Hop fans don't want positive music? :dead:

As far as positive rappers, KRS One, Public Enemy, Andre 3000, Q-Tip, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kendrick
And I'm sure the rappers I named have fans that are 80% Black that support their music

Such a shame, willing to stereotype and shyt on a whole black people and black culture just to prove a point :scusthov:

Kendrick shyt is dead on. Not feeling your pac comments. The bolded is pure nonsesne
I think Pac was influential no doubt, but posthumously he's been put on the pedestal of a revolutionary figure when he was just a 25 year old trying to find his way. His music reflected that, imo.

Straight out the fukkin' dungeons of rap
while Kendirck wasn't the first rapper to dive into this kind of content, i must admit it's been a while since an album combined this sort of content with an incredibly consistent sound that was also HIGH QUALITY.

that's why this is album of the year. How many albums have been in hip hop with excellent production AND pro-black content throughout? Public Enemy's first couple of joints, Train of Thought, R.A.P Music, Black Star, Black on Both Sides. Those are the only ones i can think of.
