The truth is, everyone in the game is an actor. No one wants to be like the LOX and spend weekends or years in jail just to prove they're "thugged out". You're here to write bars and sell records, bottom line. Fans don't expect motherfukkers to be out here shooting and beating people up, Tupac barely got away with, but these days its just a lawsuit waiting to happen. Kendrick grew up around gangs, he's said plenty of times he isn't affiliated with any of em...fair enough, not like I'd care anyway, I'm here for good music.

Remember that joke I make to brehettes on here about "Tupac in a Business Suit?"

That's what these hard headed nikkas want out of their favorite MCs, like gotta be super thugged out running the streets and be on top of the rap game. Kinda like Beans and SP the Ghost catching bodies on and off the mic. :dead:

Some lost ass nikkas, being a legit goon is a requirement to being a good MC.

this is the image of the black male that the white/jewish ppl that REALLY runs hiphop, has decided to be the face of black music and in essence black men in general. We've been conditioned to think "positive" rappers are lame and corny. The super thug rapper has been forced into our consciousness for so long now that anything "different" is shunned. I hope with Cole and Lamar selling, that intelligence and lyricism is making a comeback to mainstream. Right now, its simply not "cool" to be intelligent

he doesn't have to be a thug, that's not even close to what i'm saying, just be real.

dlon't try to be some messiah type charcter.

for example by 'real'

we can all agree dmx did more in the streets than kendrick right?

but he still talks about more than the street life and how it effected him, but kendric will literlaly only talk about compton.

Dmx Slipping: in the 1st verse he talks about how being short contributed to the chip on his shoulder, and the bad relationship with his mother. both things that have nothing to do with the city or being 'street' althouh he includes these elemeents in the song too.

Kendrick on the other hand will only talk about compton, he won't actually get personal (what do i want from him and his scars) there's more to him than just compton, but he doesn't talk about it.

Some of these brehs are caught up in the super thug image and know all of the rap sheets of these rappers more than the music itself. Some of these thugs who are undercover c00ns, outright say that they don't listen to anyone that disciplined themselves to stay outta trouble. That's why they be on Meek Mill and Chief Keef so much, while calling Cole and Kendrick lame for speaking out against the deaths of Mike Brown and Trayvon Martin.

you're wasting your time. You're talking to guys like Wild Self who've had their kidneys shifted by Kendrick/J Cole a million times. Parrot ass nikkas who repeat the same shyt: "You don't like Black excellence if you don't like Kendrick. You want thugs."

To them, anything threatening = bad. They pretend to know hip hop but can't see the nuances in it. The shades of personality that almost all the GOAT rappers brought to the table. The great rappers were way more than "thug nikkas".

They prefer Kendrick to make Call of Duty hand gestures towards the camera to signal that he's aware of that life (so as to not seem like a total p*ssy), but don't want him to risk exposing his lack of life experience in the process.

When it comes to surviving long term in hip hop, you have two options.

1. Either be extremely in touch with you are, and put this in your music to get a very loyal fanbase that resonates with what you say. (i.e J.Cole [although he strays with a couple bars now and then], old Kid Cudi, Blu, Chief Keef, Andre 3000, etc]:ohhh::lupe:

or

2. Or adopt a completely fake persona, and FULLY commit to it, and have full awareness of what you're doing. This means that when you put on a false persona, you can't have any belief in your mnd that it's real, like a p*ssy trying to be a thug shouldn't actually belive he's a thug or else he will fck it up somewehre, but if he knows he's putting on an act, he'll know the right moves to make and won't get confused. (i.e *****):stopitslime::lupe:

Kendrick's problem is that he's in between, and ends up resonating only with other confused people instead of a larger and wide fan base. The music doesn't TRULY resonate with his 'fans', but they wlil pretend to like it because they like the IDEA of it. (his latest album):yeshrug:

Kendrick basically wants to be something he's not, and this causes his music to resonate with no one. (except for a small population pretending it does):francis:

He either neeeds to find out who he is and make music based on that, or committ to adoptoing a fully fake person instead of the half fake persona he has now.:yeshrug:

An example of kendrick not knowing who he is:

-Making a song calling out every rapper in the game and saying you're coming for their spot.

-taking 2 years to release an album and then try to come from some positive angle that contradicts the persona you projected before.:stopitslime:

(it's fine if he's gonna make a positive intelligent album, but don't pretend that's the type of album that can 'murder' other rappers):yeshrug:
I should Neg you for putting Keef in there with them....

We went through the unsafe superthugs shyt from the late 80s to late 00s. Where did that get us? A bunch of MCs that ended up dead before their time, and far more locked up before they hit their stride.

Many nikkas that call Cole and Kendrick lame and the ones that scream like a schoolgirl for Meek Mill are the same ones that get played by CAC hands by being pawns for the prison industrial complex. Same argument Hip Hop had 25 years ago is happening again, and the egotistical nikkas are gonna watch as history repeat itself again.
